I bought 2 ‘Tshirt’ onesies for a spay recovery and they were both soaked from licking. This one is bullet proof and breathable. I didn’t even have to use the extra patch. No dog can lick through this material. Fits my Pomeranian like a glove ..I got the extra small. Velcro is ingenious. So easy to get her in and out of this to relieve herself. Just detach the Velcro flap in the back and find a surface to stick it too while she goes then fasten it back in place. This deserves wayyyy more purchases along with 5 star reviews. So, unfortunately we had to buy this for my dog after he got a deep stab type wound to his side. He is recovering now (thankfully!!!) But, I know he cannot wear a cone from his previous surgeries. And bless his brothers sweet heart he would want to lick it lol. But this was great. It is heavier than the other shirt we got him but in the beginning he needed something a bit more heavy-duty. Theres small holes so its always ventilating reducing the risk of infection. Straps are placed strategically and in my opinion, perfectly to assess any part thats injured. And its easy to move the straps around his butt up and secure it while he went outside. Washing it, was my least favorite because you had to airdry it (in my opinion this was best) because of the straps getting tangled on all the velcro. And it holds hair, so if you have a shedder he prepared to see lots of hair on it. Even when i put it in the dryer, the hair was there. But overall it served its purpose and my bubs is recovering well. It is not lightweight, just fyi, its pretty heavy duty!

Material is great! However, these suits were for females. I have two males that had surgery and there is no hole in which for them to go pee I don’t want them sitting in their urine all day.

This has been a great alternative to the “cone” for our male lab that recently got neutered. We did 2 1/2 days with the cone but it was just getting in the way. Our 80lb lab is resting calmly in his xxl onesie, he can now chew on his bone and get all of the head kisses he wants. we are recommending this as a great alternative!!

This was the perfect solution to our dog's constant licking of his belly at night. He was covered in sores because of it and now after wearing this at night his belly is healed. It is easy to get on and he hasn't been able to take it of himself. It is made of quality material with heavy duty Velcro. I have nothing negative to say about it.

We used this vest for our Lab, as he was going through the neutering process. The donut wasn't enough. This vest was a total Godsend (not exaggerating), esp in week two of his recovery. Just putting it on him, he calmed right down. This got us through a VERY long month of recovery. George had some complications, so it was a particularly slow process. While we haven't used it since, I wouldn't hesitate to bring it along for a road trip or have him put it on when company comes over. Since the neutering, however, he's calmed down quiet a bit (while still retaining his sparkle). It's nice to have on hand. George actually liked it, as if he got a break from his own energy for a bit. It's like swaddling a baby, I think. He doesn't mind getting into it, but he likes getting out of it as well. Very easy to throw in the wash regularly. Do pull it up and over the groin area for elimination duties (note: the manu directions on this are silly).

We bought this for our Golden Retriever after his neutering surgery. It was so much more manageable and comfortable for him than a cone 24 hours a day. It was very secure, but we did put the cone on at night in his crate when we couldn’t see him.
