Even with all the rocks in my head, they are holding up well, sinking in just enough to retain comfort throughout the night. Glad I have them. Zzzzzzzzzzz!!!! Purchased in Aug 2016: Hard to buy pillows online but the description was accurate about the pillow type and the 550 fill, and firmness. Odd though that I ordered these on the website that showed "pillows by Better Down, sold by Quality Pillow" which matched the actual image on the website. I received what are similar pillows from/by "Continental Bedding". Even the label inside the plastic bag packaging was identical to the "Better Down" pillows listed, other than the company name. I get angry when these vendors swap products out and mix and match and mislead customers. I was going to return these but after considerable thought and not wanting to be further inconvenienced I opted for keeping the pillows that were sent. If this were clothing or tools or shoes, so what, but on products that my face will be on every night, I'd prefer accuracy on my orders and get exactly what is listed on the webpage I'm ordering from. The pillows are firm and good for back and side sleeping, seem to be stitched well, sturdy, with only a mild "feathery odor" which I know dissipates from down pillows in awhile. It's very mild. I would have ordered the Royal Hotel pillows but they are only 28 inch, and I prefer the 30 inch length so kept the set I received. While on the bed these pillows look like they're blown full of air because they stand so tall; just saying they are plenty full of down and do not squish much during the night. I alternate sleeping on my stomach and side, and these pillows are fine. I know over time down will lose some fluff (my old set did/pretty flat now) so the 550 fill is very good now, although a bit more firm than I wanted but that's OK. They'll break in a bit over time. These are full and after you push your hand into the pillow, it bounces back well. They are covered in a good amount of material so I expect they'll last. These were not cheap, and I'm still annoyed these did not match what I ordered; something odd going on, that these are being sold under different names, can't find the manufactures online anywhere, web pages do t match what I ordered..... Dunno, I guess it'll be fine if I get what I paid for as these are expensive pillows...so far so good but I've only had them a week. ... show more

I ordered these pillows which are pretty pricey but they are perfect. I have gone through so many pillows from the my pillow to foam to countless others. These are amazing for side sleepers and my husband whom often sleeps on his stomach said it was great too. My neck did not hurt and was perfect. Best pillow ever! I did contact company about which pillow I should buy because there is a 700 fill also but they suggested this one for me as the 700 fill is more mediium firmness and these are more firm. ( yes it seems opposite) They do not feel firm to me. But perfect anyway. Will buy again. Feels good quality even though they are light. But down feathers are light weight. No feathers poking through either- all down. You get what you pay for. And these are premium. ... show more

I ordered the standard 550 fill power pillows. They are definitely soft, but not enough support for me. After a couple minutes of lying down, I felt like my head sank in and most of the down was around the sides of my head instead of under it. It's perfect for some, but not for me; I need firmer support. The company reached out to me and did what they could to make it work for me which was very much appreciated. In the end, I returned them, but would consider getting a firmer pillow from Continental Bedding because I felt their customer service was very attentive and accommodating, and the pillows I originally ordered were indeed very soft. NOTE: It's best to be sure you know what you're ordering because shipping back to New York was expensive. It's not something Prime members can ship back thru Kohl's or UPS because it's a third-party seller. ... show more

I’ve slept on down pillows for over 35 years. It is the only way I can sleep comfortably! I really wanted to love this pillow. And for the price I paid, it should have been AMAZING. But it wasn’t. I’ve spent a year trying to get comfortable with this pillow and I just cannot do it. It is too hard and stuff. The cotton enclosure is too stiff and the pillow is just not malleable like one expects down pillows to be. It’s not soft and luxurious, but feels cheap. It feels like it might as well be a down alternative pillow. there is nothing special or comforting about this pillow at all. I wish I could return it. ... show more

I've been looking for a super soft and malleable but supportive pillow for a new bed, and I tried these ones because they were advertised as "firm." To me, they weren't firm at all. They're super puffy, not at all scratchy, no smells, and the case seems really well made, but they went pretty flat as soon as I laid on them. I tend to change positions a lot when I sleep, and when I laid on my back, these weren't supportive. I went to return the pillows, only to find out that UPS was going to charge me $60 to send them back in the same box that they arrived in. I contacted the company, and they provided me a free shipping return label, which was really great of them. All in all, I think these pillows are gorgeous and really puffy, and they'd be awesome for a stomach sleeper. But I wouldn't call them "firm," if you want a more supportive pillow. They're about as soft as any standard down pillow. ... show more

In my experience an all down pillow is NOT meant for support while sat up etc. By their nature they will compress. Ideally you can pair with a firmer pillow for support while reading etc. However where this pillow excels is that it will cradle your head & neck in clouds of fluffiness, with just the perfect amount of support during the night. This pillow did not short change on down fill and actually lists how much down by weight is in the pillow. Most competitors do not disclose that info, and my head sank through to the mattress by morning with the another pillow I tried before this one. That's because the amount of fill wasn't anywhere near this one. I noticed now that this pillow has increased 30% in price since I bought it also (king size). After a full year with it I'd say it was still worth every penny even at the current price. I know we all want to save money, but don't even think of spending less than $100 if you want a quality down pillow. Trust me, I tried! ... show more
