I am revising my rating from 3 to 5, after 4 months' use. Now saying "Where has this been all my life?" Throwing out those flimsy steamer baskets. Yhis a great product at a very low price. It has one problem: heat vulnerability of the handles. There is a huge warning everywhere, which I ignored and learned the hard way but with no damage. I smelled that smell of plastic burning and yup, that was the warning. The burner or gas flames cannot extend beyond the diameter of the pot, not one bit, because the plastic handles on the pot will emit toxic fumes when heated. I thought it would take forever to boil water but the fairly thin metal transmits heat FAST! Once I moved the pot to a smaller burner and figured out how high to set the flame, it's been great! Fast, reliable, consistent, and east to clean. Better than all others. Be sure and look at the dimensions described by seller. Nice wide steamer part is a plus.

I needed a smaller pot to steam items and this fits the bill instead of using those silicone or flimsy metal steamer baskets. However, though I washed the pot prior to using, the pot emitted a bad chemical smell on the stove when I steamed something. Could have been a coating on the bottom of the pot that did not completely wash off. After a while, the coating must have burned off and the smell went away. Other than that, the pot is sturdy and good for my purposes.

This steamer is very easy to use and makes it a snap to prepare frozen or fresh veggies to eat as a side or with noodles or whatever. Because you don't use any oils in preparation, the result is very clean, healthy vegetables. I understand you can also make potstickers & dumplings; but I haven't tried that yet. It is also very easy to clean & lightweight.
