I am a very experienced gardener and was looking for the best value possible for hostas and astibles. This is it. You get a mix of 15 hostas and 15 astibles in two marked packages. The roots are big and healthy and there is new growth. I received them well packaged and there was no loss of moisture and no roots were dried out. I know the variety of hostas is a mystery until they are grown but for this price, it is well worth it. If you are not familiar with planting, a few youtube videos should help. These should be planted in light shade. I am pleased with the quality and size of the plants. It may take a year or two for them to reach full size, but that is to be expected with any root orders. I will be planting these around my trees. A light mulch after planting should keep them in good shape and do not overwater. They will come up year after year, increasing in size.

Bulbs arrived in good condition and after one week, the hostas are doing very well. The astilbe are taking longer to show progress. The photos show both out of the package and then planted the first day. The other two photos are one week later.

I’m having an issue with the white ones they just don’t grow as good as the others and it looks like I’m about to lose all the white ones I would prefer no white ones

Came with 15 quality Hosta bulbs and 15 quality Astilbe bulbs and they were well packaged. Both types of bulbs already were sprouting and I immediately place them in individual pots and watered them. Within 2 days the sprouts had doubled. I am waiting to see their color and size before I plan on planting them permanently, but they appear healthy and ready to go into the ground (after your last frost) if you are ready to plant.

I planted these plants 5 days ago and you can tell some of them are growing really fast. It’s interesting to me though that the ones growing fast are getting more sunlight than the ones that aren’t. These are supposed to thrive in full shade but the ones growing fast are getting probably 4-6 hours of sun I would guess. I’m still working on my flower bed so don’t judge the ugliness of the area but this will give you an idea of what to expect if you want to buy some.
