For the price this is a decent pair of binoculars. They are small, light and compact. The come with a nice carry case, easy to read instructions and an attached cord to hang them around your neck. I was able to see objects about 155M (500 ft) away very clearly. The focus is adjusted by turning the dial on the top which moves both sides. This can be done very easily using one finger as you are looking through the binoculars. The right eye may need to be individually adjusted and that is done by just turning the right eye piece. The binoculars are stated to have "night vision" but I did not see any difference using them at night compared to another pair of binoculars I have so I'm not sure what that meant. The only difference I could discern was due to the color of the lenses used, everything looked brighter and whiter night or day. I have a cream colored wall and it appeared white through these binoculars. The instructions indicate they have "rubber fold-down eyecups" for those wearing eyeglasses. However, I was unable to get them to fold down. Also, there is a strong rubber chemical smell which I assume will go away. First and foremost, this is a complete set of binoculars and accessories (strap, case, cleaning cloth) for less than most others charge for shipping alone. We get binoculars labeled with fantasy numbers (30x60) that have nothing to do with reality. (Conventionally, the first number is the magnification, which is ether 8x or 12x depending on what illustration you are looking at on the Amazon page. My casual measurements estimate a magnification at around 8x. The the second number is the diameter of the front lens that determines the brightness of the image, which is 20mm in this case, So this is probably 8x20, a reasonable specification. Nothing wrong with these numbers and they are a reasonable compromise. A larger front lens would significantly increase the size and weight while a larger magnification would make it more difficult to keep the image steady) The lenses are coated orange and the image is quite clear in the middle, but we get a drop-off in focus and visible chromatic aberration near the edges. Not really a big deal, because if we want to look at something there, we just point and place that new object in the center. Focusing is easy and smooth and the center of the diopter adjustment is clearly marked. Including the strap (but without the case) it is 156g, slightly lighter than the 165g listed. Overall, it is very solidly built with good resistance in all moveable parts. The soft rubber covering extends over the ends of the internal structure and provides significant protection when accidentally bumped. It comes with a leaflet specific to this exact item with detailed instructions how to use and clean. There is even a warning not to look directly into the sun. :D The case is correctly sized, closes with a Velcro patch and has a loop to attach to a belt. It seems to fit belts up to about 4cm wide. The strap is is nylon with a round cross-section, not adjustable, of reasonable length, and is permanently attached. (It could probably be removed using a screwdriver, but I did not try). For use with glasses, the eye cups are supposed to fold down, but I found them too stiff for that. This is a great item that is light and folds to a very small size and thus can go anywhere. At half the folded size compared to other models, it could easily fit inside a tiny purse when going to the theater or opera. Yes, this is not a top-of-the-line set of binoculars but it is entirely sufficient for casual use. It is really well designed and easy to hold and use. ... show more

For the price, you will not be able to beat this pair of binoculars. I compared them to my high end compact binoculars and the glass isn't as clear or as bright, but for a fraction of the price they are more than capable. I like having a small binocular like this to take along on hikes and to scout out new hunting spots. They are also perfect for my kids to have on them to learn with before I let them take an expensive set of binos out. The glass was able to focus clearly and the magnification was acceptable. I was really blown away that this could be done at such an impressive price point. I won't be getting rid of Nikon or Vortex brand but this set absolutely works if it's what your budget allows. ... show more

First of all, these are not 30x zoom or 60mm lenses as shown on the binoculars. 30x60 would be a quality pair of binoculars worthy of a dedicated birdwatcher or even for astronomy. However, they are pretty good at magnifying somewhere between 5-10x as they do. They are VERY compact, and reliably so. I am not worried about these breaking in my pocket, and kind of amazed at how well they do fit in my pocket. They're about the size of a thick wallet. Once you've got them properly focused (and it came with instructions to show you how to do that), the view is surprisingly good for binoculars that cost less than $10. I almost didn't bother trying them because I thought they couldn't possibly work at that price, but they do! With the small size and only 5-10x (this is my guess on magnification, the magnification is not adjustable), they probably aren't top choice for any type of hobbyist, but would be great for an emergency bag, or for my purpose: big concerts. Being small enough to comfortably fit in my pocket and light enough to not get exhausting holding up, these will be a welcome part of my concert gear when the summer festivals come. ... show more
