My spillway front had an extreme amount of white calcium over its face. My pool guy had no clue how to easily remove it and recommended that I change the tile to a light tile. These worked great. Just hopped in the pool on a really nice day and worked my way around. Did not scratch my tiles at all, and got the unsightly white deposits off my deep blue tiles. It didn't take much effort, and was done pretty quick. I strongly prefer this to lowering the pool water level, spraying with caustic muriatic acid and then wiping it up while keeping it out of my nose and eyes. Our pool is 30 x 14, and it took almost 2 bricks to do the whole thing. Yes, the brick disintegrates as you use it - it's softer than pumice which is why it doesn't scratch up your tiles. The grit that these break into is about like sand, not a problem for our cartridge filter system. I also use them to get the AZ hard water ring off the toilet bowl (pour a bucket of water down the toilet first to mostly empty the bowl). Same great results as with the pool. Will be buying these again! ... show more
