Description

Two Heat Output Settings - Boasting two heat settings, the Comfort Zone Portable Heater with Thermostat offers you the ability to tailor your heat output to the needs of your space. On brisk autumn evenings spent in your garage, the low setting will help make your space more comfortable. For subzero winter nights, the high setting produces enough heat to keep your space warm. Convenient, Portable Design - This utility heater is designed with an oversized carrying handle to make it easier to move from room to room. The body stays cool to the touch even when on the high heat setting, so you can safely transport the heater from your garage to your bedroom or bathroom whenever you need a bit of extra heat on cold winter evenings. Loaded with Safety features - Built with safety in mind, this portable heater is loaded with safety features for added peace of mind. Automatic shut-off will cut the power to the heater whenever there is a risk of overheating, while the safety tip-over switch protects against electrical shock and fire if the unit is knocked over. This heater also includes power and caution indicator lights to warn you when the heater is turned on and when there is a possible issue. Rugged, Durable Construction - With an all-metal construction, this rugged utility heater is designed to last for years with the proper care and maintenance. The strong, durable metal will hold up to the regular wear and tear that comes from working in a garage or workshop, so you can enjoy a warm, comfortable setting. Precise Temperature Control - With a built-in thermostat, you can easily control the air output to tailor the temperature of your garage or workshop to your preference. Simply turn your heater on its highest setting until you have reached optimal temperature, and then switch it to the low setting to maintain that temperature.

  • Great little heater
Color: Gray
Mine is in a well pump house. As you can see in manufacture photo 2 prong plug 3-4’ of cord. Works great for my application.

  • Very efficient, Heat Blowing Workhorse, Highly Recommended
Color: Gray
This is a utility heat but I am utilizing it for indoor heating. Product is the epitome of durability, production and efficiency. Highly recommended for a Studio/1bd Apartment. Self sufficient producing heat rapidly, increasing room temperature about 5 degrees within 5 minutes of operation. Can be utilized as main and singular heating source for covered areas less that 400sqft. ... show more

  • Overall Very Good Quality and Almost Everything I Wanted
Color: Black
I bought 5 of these heaters. The most significant quality of this particular heater is the safety switch in the bottom of the enclosure. This is a good thing, but pay attention to it. It is far better than the tilt switch on similar heaters I have bought that have a plastic arm on the tilt switch weight that melts, prevents the heater from turning on and renders the heater useless unless you bypass it and that renders it unsafe. You CANNOT get repair parts for any of these heaters, either. The downside is that you must have it sitting on a flat surface. I had one sitting on an uneven surface. The switch engaged initially, but later on, vibrated away from the high point it was on and the heater shut off. Make sure it is sitting on a flat surface. There one disappointment. I have owned MANY different makes and models of this type of milk house heater. The fans in these don't move air as vigorously as the models I replaced them with. That's important because it doesn't circulate heat as well and shuts down before it warms the whole area. The thermostat is a LOT better quality and more accurate than other mfrs and shuts down at a lower temperature. It has a "freeze" setting at 40 degrees marked on the panel. You can set it at this temperature and trust it will come on accurately and unattended to heat an area to prevent freezing. I have some heaters that don't shut down below like 60 degrees. This overheats my storage areas needlessly and eats up a lot of power. So far, I'm very satisfied with the heaters, but would be happier with higher velocity fans. ... show more

  • So far, what I expected...
Color: Black
Update, months later: FYI the rattling noise that happens after the unit is first turned on is mostly from metal (inevitably!) expanding as the thing warms up and the temperatures of varous parts even out. But because this startup rattling from metal expansion eventually vibrates some screws loose too, gently tightening those as needed helps if the racket gets louder or persists longer. This heater still quickly heats my large room - no problems, so far. The Milkhouse-style portable heater is what I've grown most accustomed to, usually just grabbing one off a local hardware store shelf last minute, whenever I find myself suddenly in need. So, I know, some of these last for years, but others not so much - and I'm choosing optimism today. The heaters I already own are stashed in storage lockers - elsewhere. Optimistic, I am, because this one works great, so far - quiet, with adequate heat production for a small area, as I desired and expected. Almost an oops: The handy carrying handle was buried near the bottom, all but hidden amid the unit's protective packaging, but thankfully I noticed, then easily screwed it on. ... show more

  • It works but with a few hiccups
Color: Black
I live in a small studio condo with not enough either insulation or a small electric baseboard heater. Comfort Zone Milkhouse heater to the rescue. It took a while for it to get going, I was already thinking about a return when the heat started blowing. Yesss!! It works perfectly, heating up my small quarters. P.S. I don't worry about the electrical bill because all utilities are included in the monthly condo fee. Back to the heater. It has good features and not so good ones. I will begin with the good part. Overheat protection and tip-over protection. When I first set up my new milkhouse heater, I picked it up to look at the Cauton button, which is when the heater stopped working but started again once I set it on the floor. I decided not to attach the handle because I don't intend to carry it around. Attaching the handle is easy, all you need is a flat screwdriver and 2 screws that are already in. Maybe will attach when I am in the mood. BUT. This heater is equipped with a 2-prong ever so slightly polarized plug. I am no electrician but am aware that everything nowadays has 3-prong plugs. All my antennae went up and I started researching which yielded a confirmation that a 2-prong plug is not safe. It lacks a grounding prong crucial for safety. I have ended up unplugging it when not in use as per instructions. Both the plug and the cord get pretty warm when in use, and take some time to cool down. I really don't know what to think about this. I hesitate to return the unit because I want to stay warm. One star off for that. There is another model currently on the market, Comfort Glow Milkhouse heater which is equipped with a 3-prong plug; unfortunately not offered here on Amazon. One star off for that. By the way, I have ended up paying a few $$ more supposedly as a special for the prime members. Does this make sense? Actually the prime deal translated into receiving the heater a few days earlier; I wish that it was spelled out this way rather than referring to the prime. But overall, the happy end, knock on the wood. ... show more
