We first tried the Shiatsu version with the knobs that push into your back. Most uncomfortable experience ever. Way too intense at any setting. Then we found this mat with FLAT vibrators and heat. The heat is okay, not adjustable and not too intense, but the vibration/ massage options are terrific. My wife has fibromyalgia and arthritis and she love the heat and gentle to vigorous massage. After just a few days, she can feel the improvement in her pain level. It’s not gone but it’s better. We’re hoping it will continue to do so with regular use. I purchased this massager to get an overall back and neck massage. I bust say this does cover most areas. The rolling massager feels nice but it can be a little stiff rolling up and down your back. It's something to get use to but once you do you find yourself in it more and more. It has a great neck massager as well. The compression mats on the sides are also a plus. The heat and vibration really brings everything together. This is definitely one of the nicer ones I have used. It is a bit awkward when moving around. It provides a good cord length to reach the wall as well. The noise level isn't too bad either as it does not interfere with what you're watching on tv. Overall, I am pleased with the massager and I am glad I purchased it. Oh yeah, I purchased this for my wife but I find myself using it a lot as well! LOL ... show more

The "Spot" function is the best! When you need to target an isolated area press "Spot" and it will stay on that specific area. The Rolling function may not seem very powerful at first (compared to Shiatsu) but after a few minutes you will feel your muscles relax and loosen up and is so soothing.
