I gifted this to my wife who suffers from a sore back after a long day at work. It was too strong on the floor, and pushes too deep into the muscle. But we found it works best propped-up against the inside back of a recliner, then you can lean into the machine as much or little as you prefer. It gives a strong message and leaves the skin a muscle hyper-stimulated, almost tingly and sensitive. But I understand that is how Shiatsu massage works. Overall it is a relief and very helpful. I wish it had a longer band for a recliner since the included strap is fitted for a car seat. A longer strap would be more practical in the home with a regular chair. This thing is quite good for the price. I typically use a hard foam roller to stretch out my middle back pain. I have had pain in the same area for over 20 years. Last week, I tried to move some wood loading ramps early in the morning and all of sudden felt like I could not even stand up. It almost felt like something broke in my back. This has acutally happened before in the past, but only a few times over 20 years. Usually it is just a muscle strain which is painful at first, then sore for a couple weeks to a couple months at most. I ordered this back massager the morning after this latest injury and it was delivered within a couple hours. The foam roller was just too painful and would not provide the little cracks and immediate relief it typically does. This massager provided such intense feelings of relief and got into deep tissue that I literally felt what you could describe as euphoria. The problem is it felt so good that I really leaned my weight onto the unit so much that the balls would barely move and I seem to have bruised my back around my spine quite a bit. Now I can only use this massager very lightly until the bruise heals up. The heating feature is not all that warm, but I did feel it. Being a long time sufferer of back pain, I try a little of everything. This massager should really help provide some immediate temporary relief. But to those suffering, I will relate that the absolute best help was strengthening my core by situps, pullups, pushups etc and the corresponding weight loss. I did not have any back pain for years when I could do sets of 10-15 pullups at a time, but I got lazy and now I am suffering again. I have a tens unit. It works great, but it is too hard to get the pads on my back by myself. I have the heating pads and the ice pads. I have the foam rollers with and without knubs. I have a bosu ball. I have the icy hot, the tiger balm, the biofreeze. I have a hot tub with all kinds of jets and 5 different seating positions. This massager is a very welcome addition. I bought an accupressure mat at the same time, about which I was very skeptical in comparison to a shiatsu heated massager. But I am using the accupressure mat in conjunction with the shiatsu massager and light stretching and got back to work after only a couple days with only annoying stiffness, discomfort and soreness instead of intolerable pain and immobility. ... show more

No one has paid me to review this lol. This literally is the best thing I’ve purchased. I’m a hospice RN and I drive all day to see patients. I suffer from tension knots behind my scapulas, into my shoulders, and neck tightness from stress. This is a LIFESAVER. It works all the knots out. Most massagers I’ve tried are not enough pressure. This thing gets deep and does the job. The heat function is nice too. You can use it while driving but be careful as the stimulation can be a little distracting. I purchased this massager since I do alot of work at my desk which requires writing, reading and looking down. I have been getting migraines and suffer from arthritis. So far, I would recommend the product but wish the switch to turn off and on was on a separate switch. The product also runs for a very short period of time before shut- off. I've spent money in the past on massage chairs, but I find it painful when the rollers go up my back. I loved when it reached my shoulders and neck. This provides that part without the rest of the big chair. I keep it next to my bed and use it easily after work, before sleeping. I like to put it between my shoulder blades and use a pillow under my head so it's not too much pressure. It gets the knots out along the scapula nicely. My only critique is that it's slightly wide for my neck, so I often have to do each side of my neck one at a time. I have found if I put a small towel or something behind my neck it helps to get both sides at once. I love it so much. It's held up, but if it ever breaks I will HAVE to get another. ... show more

I love that it gets into the knots. It's very strong, and a very good massager. The only problem I have is that it goes really fast. It's not very relaxing. In the sense that you can just sit with it and deep breathe as you get a nice, relaxing massage. It's loud and moves very fast so it's more about breaking up the knots, then really taking it easy.
