I put this unit in my tiny cabin because my well has tons of lime, and it’s really hard on coffee and ice makers and tea kettles, and I had gotten used to the taste of the permeate from my maple syrup operation. It’s easy to install with just a couple tools. Stopped leaking within a few hours, and doesn’t take up much space. The downside is that you can only get a gallon of RO water at a time. So, if you mix your own sports drinks like I do, you just need to keep a mostly full gallon jug or pitcher in your fridge. Love it for my little place! ... show more

Able to buy this whole new complete system for less than the filters. There’s many replacements for this system for $40 bucks or less available. Let me start by saying, I received no response from Comfee when my original product broke. The clear plastic filter housing bottom popped completely off the housing. Lucky for me, I was in the kitchen when this happened. This problem happened a week after installation. I bought a new kit thinking it would allow me to put the new filter housing on the existing unit and save everything else for spare parts. Well, no good deed goes unpunished. The new system filter housings were completely different, so I had to basically install the whole unit again. That being said...there were 3 things I liked with the new system. 1) The filter housings seem to be manufactured better than the old unit. 2) The o rings for the new housing were much thicker than the ones on the old unit. 3) I bought the parts to install the second water tank, doubling the reserve. I was able to install the new unit and still use all the filters from the first kit so it's not a complete loss of the money for the first purchase. I also had a gift card, so the price was not too bad. Would have given a 5-star rating if the manufacturer would have replied to my problem. This review is for COMFEE’ 5-Stage Reverse Osmosis System, NSF Certified Water Filter for Under Sink. This is the second unit I purchased here on Amazon from this company. The first unit cracked in the middle of the night causing a lot of water damage, which cost me a lot of money and effort to deal with. Fortunately, the unit was still under the sellers' one year warranty. After extensive search I was able to locate the customer service phone number and after some 20 calls and emails back and forth, I was sent a refund. Thinking that the product was essentially OK, I ordered a replacement from Amazon even before my refund was processed. Of course I had to pay a higher price, but whatever. The second unit worked fine for 7 months. Day before yesterday, I came home to a chirping sound I couldn't account for; this turned out to be from the water alarm I had purchased here on Amazon. I also had purchased an automatic shutoff valve, also here on Amazon, which I am glad to report worked as advertised. This time the damage due to water leakage is minimal. So, here I go again. This time, as saying goes, twice burned three times shy. I think we are done here, or will be as soon as I get my refund. ... show more

I wish they would have sent the Pressure tank in the "Off" position to start with for installation. I had to drain mine as it wasn't and once under the counter, I could not read the tiny print on the thing. So even if they don't they should make the writing on it higher contrast so it can be read easier. Not the end of the world by any means, I am a very tall guy so spending all day under the sink(not for just this installation. this took about an hour) was just sooo much fun. and then trying to read molded in print that is small was a pain. also the water faucet for it is beyond cheap and flimsy and will be the first thing I upgrade later. ... show more

    • No-Brainer to set up

When I first opened the boxes and saw all the hoses and attachments, I was admittedly intimidated. Fortunately the instructions were pretty well written and everything was color coded (including the hoses). The set-up took about an hour, and although I did spill a bit of water (they warn you in the instructions to have a bucket ready) I was quite pleased with the final result. Water looks and tastes amazing. The holding tank is a bit small but for my needs it seems adequate. Just started using it so I cannot comment on cartridge longevity. Really nice faucet and hardware included in the price. I would recommend to anyone seeking highly filtered water in relatively small quantities. The filter is rated to 75 gallons per day, but you only have about 3 gallons or RO on hand at any point. After you have emptied the reservoir, the unit will only produce a bit more than 3 (us) gallons per hour. ... show more
