  • Saturday Trail Knee Pant vs. Just Right Capri, Aruba & Roll up version of Saturday Trail Pant
Size: 18 Plus Long Color: Black
I purchased the Just Right capri, the Aruba capri and the Saturday Trail Capri in identical sizes. There is quite a bit of difference in fit. The Just Right capri is much looser in the waist and leg. They are not baggy, just not as close to the skin. Definitely a more relaxed feel. They are also a few inches longer. The Saturday Trail comes midway across my knee cap, the Just Right capri come a good 2-4 inches below my knee. I like both and will keep both, however the Saturday Trail is a bit tight at the waist and as there is no give in the waistband or the ability to custom size by having snaps in several locations along the waist band, I had better not gain any weight! They have a more athletic look to them. This capri could NOT be "dressed up" as it really looks athletic. The Saturday Trail knee pant has an adjustable stretchy elastic through the bottom which you can slide to make it completely closed against the leg or leave open/relaxed where you then have in my case at least a couple inches or so loose. As that piece (which I can't for the life of me remember the name of it right now) is outside the hem, it is visible when worn and gives a very casual sporty look to the Saturday trail capri. Consistency in sizing is important to me and I will pay a bit more to know what I order will fit the same as what I have ordered in the past (provided I have not changed in size of course.) Some manufacturer's are all over the place and I can wear 4 different sizes making it impossible to know what size to order. Here the "fit" difference is more a question of an athletic cut vs. a casual but more versatile cut. I had ordered the Aruba pant that could be rolled up to a capri length that was said to run small so order one size larger. It did fit around the waist but was so baggy around the butt and particularly around my legs that it looked terrible. Only if overall the cut is a size too small or size to big can going up/down work for you. When it is just the waist which is small and the remainder is cut a size too big it makes for a terrible fit. If you are built with larger hips and legs and a small waist I recommend the Aruba otherwise the fit just won't work for you. The other issue with the Aruba is it had only an exterior button to hold the cuff in place so the inside of the leg kept coming unrolled (especially since it was already too large in the leg). So if you are looking for pants that turn into capris I would recommend the Saturday Trail Pant. Yes it runs slimmer just as the knee pants do, but when rolled up it fits closer to your leg and has buttons on both the inseam and outside seam to hold the cuff in place. HOPE THIS HELPS! And to all the buyers who leave detailed reviews THANK YOU. I always look at the customer reviews on Amazon because they are generally so well done ... show more

  • Just Right
Everyone should have a pair or two of these knee pants. They are lightweight, soft and comfortable. Very breathable and quick to dry. They are also water repellant which is nice in light rain. Snaps are much more secure than buttons so after time, I will not have to sew a button back on. The fit is nice and slim without being tight. Fabric is stretchy and moves with you. Fits as expected. I usually wear size 8 (5'5 140lbs) and this one in size 8 fits perfect. Nice length, sits just below the knee. Comfortable enough to hike in and nice enough to wear around town. Only downside might be that the material will snag easily. I have this in several colors and if they made more colors I would buy more. I wear them several times a week. ... show more

  • Great below the knee pants.
My go to summer pants. As an older person, I don't like to go out in shorts during summer. But I also don't like long pants. These pants hit about 2 inches below the knee. They have an elastic drawstring at the bottom of each leg for decoration and to keep the bottom from looking floppy. Love the soft fabric that is quiet when you walk. Have 2 different colors of these pants that I wear often. Light weight, packable, not too hot, and look nice for any occasion! Just bought my 3rd color. ... show more

  • comfortable for hiking!
Size: 12 Long Color: City Grey
I thought these were similar to other Columbia capris I have, but they are a bit nicer. Material is slightly thicker (and hopefully a bit more durable than the past capris which got snags over time.) These are great for hiking! Fit perfectly and have a slight bit of stretch. Wash easily. Good pockets. They are coming on the Camino in Spain with me! ... show more

  • The material is amazing and stretches wonderfully
I ordered both the Saturday trail Pants and also the Knee pant. Thought they would be the same cut other than one is long and able to convert to a Capri and the other is a capri with a cinch at the knee. I ordered up per the reviews. The material is amazing and stretches wonderfully.....EXCEPT in the waist. NO give at all there. The long pants cinched me in both the waist and the butt (wedgie) which I was surprised since I went up a size. The knee pant does neither and if very comfortable. The only downside it the side pockets stick out and do not lay flat. The back pockets have a velcro closing and you would hardly know they were there so I wish they put a little velcro on the side to keep them flat. I may keep the capris because even though I am not thrilled with the side pockets they are comfy and I think will be used on my upcoming trip to New Zealand. I ordered the grill which is more green than slate. I also ordered the night shadow and liked that a bit better. Of course, the night shadow was in the long and the grill was in the capri so I will have to return them both and get the night shadow in the capri...I would have kept the grill and then ordered another color....but not sure I want two pairs of pants with gaping side pockets. If they could just give the waist a little more give, these would be an awesome pair of pants.....I am 5'9 and 165 lbs. I am a pretty standard size 12 in most brands but went up to a 14L.Length was good ... show more

  • Purchased these for years
Size: 4 Long Color: Black
Every year I buy more of these pants. Not because they wear out (although they tend to get fuzzy on inner thights if you dont have thin thighs which I dont) but because they are so great. I have one in almost every color. I am 5'3" and 120 lbs and a 4 fits but sometimes snug in waist when I gain 5 lbs (I carry my weight in my legs and butt). They wick moisture (drizzle) well and are soft but durable. Not crunchy or noisy like my North Face pants. Overall, I live in these all summer. ... show more
