This is the best waterproof jacket for the price. I have a Nordic Outland and the Columbia is much better. You can read my review of the Nordic here on Amazon. This Columbia I took in the rain for a 2hr hike in the Pocono mountains. the outside of the jacket beads which tells me the rain proof is working and after the hike the jacket remained dry. The zippers will fit your wallet, car keys and cell phone and keep them dry unlike the Nordic Outland. The fit was perfect Amazons got that really figured out 5 stars on that. The breathability worked the weight is nice and you will get a little warm causing you to sweat. The jacket seems well made going through trees and shrubs I did not get stuck on anything. So for the price this is a good bang probably the best for your buck. It obviously well engineered for outdoor rain. Great job Columbia and Amazon for offering it. Talk to ya later. ... show more

This is a well made. Solidly waterproof jacket. I replaced an older version which was still serviceable. This jacket seems more "breatheable" and perhaps a little heavier duty. The fit is perfect. The zipper works (one has to keep the jacket material out of the way of the zipper), the velcro around the wrists and the front of the jacket are easy to seal up. The only thing I do not like is trying to tighten the hood around my head. It has an elastic string that runs from the one side to the other so if you pull the string, it does tighten the hood. The problem is there is nothing to keep the string tight. That part doesn't really work. ... show more

Excellent rain jacket, very resistant to rain and spray. It dries quickly and even has an adjustable hood. I (5'11 195 lbs) ordered an XL to fit over two layers (thermal top and lightweight fleece) and it fit perfectly I ordered this for a trip to Iceland and was able to get very close to waterfalls and survived rainstorms with my underclothes staying very dry. ... show more
