We bought this because there is a Zamp plug in built into our new RV. The panel is easy to set up and light weight. We love that is comes with a big padded case for the panel to sit in. The read out has a lot of options so you can look at how many amps or volts are being generated, choose different battery types and more. It is worth the money to just simply plug in and charge!     • Zamp appears it'll do the job!
Bought the ZAMP Solar 140-Watt Portable Solar Kit USP1002 and am very impressed with how well-built the unit is and easy to set-up and use. We're planning a 2 week off-the-grid vacation in our toy hauler to explore the San Juan mountain trails in Colorado from our Polaris RZR so the ZAMP will see a lot of action. The unit is quite heavy, which is a tribute to how solidly it's built, but we'll still devise some kind of anchor (weights?) to hold it down if it becomes windy. Our only concern is that someone may want it more than we do so that'll probably be our biggest issue. We bought the 15 ft extension cable and found it was a reasonable price because there aren't many options that offer the same quality. I'll update this after our adventure to highlight the positives or negatives we experience. ... show more

I am not sure if the Zamp store on Amazon is the company Zamp or a reseller. I called the company Zamp for support on a LifePo4 battery, they were extremely helpful. Positive: Darn good solar panel, you get what you pay for. I am running Sun Power 100 watts with the Zamp controller on the camper with the 140-watt Legacy Suite Case panel with controller. I can park my camper in the shade and let the portable panel do the charging. The combination of 100 and 140 gives me 240 watts of solar power, more than enough to charge my current 70ah hour battery and future 100 ah hour battery. Negative: Zamp has recently in the last year upgraded their solar controller profiles to support the newer LifePo4 batteries. I am not sure if my new 140 watt panel has that new profile. Not sure if this unit was old stock or not. If the Zamp Store on Amazon is the official Zamp company, then I have the newer controller. There is no way to tell without removing the controller which voids the Warranty. Maybe someone from the Amazon Zamp Store can tell me if they are a reseller or not. ... show more

We bought the solar panels for an extended RV trip. Camping without electrical hookups for 4 months in high country Forest Service campgrounds in the Colorado Rockies the Zamp panels kept our lithium batteries charged daily. They aren’t light so the carry/storage case is indispensable and the attached handle makes carrying it a breeze. We did wire a 40’ extension into the connection cord to allow positioning for best sunlight. The battery charge status panel is able to tell how much charge is being generated AND charge level of the battery. Overall we just would not camp without it! ... show more

    • handle is painful
Just got it. Shipping box was trashed by UPS. Everything about it appears high quality. The cover case looks almost bullet proof. Hooked it up to a battery in the driveway and it immediately gave 13.7 V and evaluated the condition of the battery. I visualized a set up where the panels were protected on the inside when folded but not so. Hopefully the storage case will protect them. The guy who designed the carrying handle obviously never had to use it because it is a torture device if using it for more than a minute or two. Wrapped it with some Gorilla tape to fix that . Gave it an overall 4 rather than a 5 for that one reason. Would be nice if they could integrate an way to securely chain it to the camper to prevent theft. Kind of pricy thing to leave unguarded in the sun otherwise. ... show more

I bought this solar panel to keep the batteries charged on my RV. Based on positive reviews, I chose the Zamp 140 watt portable panel , even though it was priced a bit higher than similar panels from other companies. I have not regretted this decision. This is an extremely well made, simple to use solar panel. The instructions with the charge controller could be better, but in reality, it's basicly plug & play. ... show more

Panel arrived very well packaged. There was some damage to the box from handling, but everything was in great shape inside. Nice carrying case. Well built unit. USA made. Easy to set up. I also bought the Furrion adapter so it is plug and play. Charges my 2 RV batteries and keeps the residential fridge running through the inverter. Really happy with this purchase. ... show more
