Color Wow Raise the Root has become a staple in my hair routine. As someone who has noticed changes in my hair's thickness and texture over the years, I'm always looking for products that can help create lift and volume without making my hair feel weighed down. I spray it at the roots on damp hair before blow drying, and it gives my hair noticeable lift and body, especially around the crown. Unlike some root-lifting products I've tried, it doesn't leave my hair sticky, crunchy, or stiff. What I love most is that the volume looks natural. My hair still moves and feels soft, but it has much more fullness and height. It also works beautifully with other styling products and doesn't leave buildup. This is a simple spray bottle that you can use to spray the liquid on the roots of your bangs to make them thicker and fuller and to lift the hair so it just looks better! With aging can come a thinning of the hair in the bangs area. I know I suffer from it and was at a loss as to what to do. Then I found this and it helps with the texture of the hair and seems effective to strengthen the roots so when you blow dry your bangs it improves your appearance. If you have oily hair you will appreciate this even more as it doesn't add a lot of oils and moisture like some mousse products can. My bangs are the first thing to get oily a day after a shower and it is annoying to be honest. This does something to help with that problem as well although I don't know the exact mechanism only the results. So your hair will just look healthier longer! I never received my product from ordering here and had to get it some place else. I did, however, want to write a product review based on my experience anyway. It feels like a texturing product. I definitely did not get the dramatic experiences people are showing online and maybe it's because I used it sparingly for a couple of factors. I read reviews that it can be very stiff and has a very strong fragrance which I can't tolerate with anything. I applied it to the roots of each section of damp hair and then combed it in before applying the heat of the blow dryer. Without the product, I can get lift but that lift drops within 10 minutes especially in southern humidity. I typically can't have product in my hair since it is so fine and anything makes it heavy. This product was light, based on my usage, and I did not experience stiffness. It did not feel like hairspray. However, I did not use a ton on my roots and I can feel that if I used anymore product than I did then it would probably be too heavy and wouldn't work. I did experience a little more lift than I normally would after a blow dry and it did drop a bit 10 minutes in. So, my experience is that it works to an extent. A few reviews indicated that the fragrance was so strong that it gave them a migraine. I used this on a day where I had a migraine with the assumption that, if it got worse, I would wash it out promptly. It did not make my migraine worse. I do REALLY wish they made a fragrance free version of this. There is really no need to add fragrance to things unless you are hiding something in the ingredients. By midday, the product stopped working and my hair went back to how it always is.

I have superfine straight hair, and a lot of it. Because it's so fine, it's also FLAT. It really takes a lot of product for me to get any volume. I thought I'd give this Color WOW Thicken + Lift spray a go, particularly because I was able to get it in a convenient travel size. Even with that, I was surprised at how small the bottle was. Don't be fooled though, a little goes a long way. This stuff REALLY provides some lift and thickness. I use it on wet hair by lifting up sections of hair and spraying underneath, then do a light spray all over on top. My hair looks and feels like it has twice the volume as it really does. It's pricey, but if it works, it works...and it does.

After only a few hours, the product becomes very gritty feeling, and your hair will feel dry and porous to the touch. If you read the ingredients, the first one is denatured alcohol. The rest are other chemicals like polymers. The next morning after using it, my hair felt gummy at the roots where the product had been applied, and it looked dry and dull. My scalp also felt itchy. I didn’t want to risk any further damage or breakage, so I immediately tried to shampoo it out. When I got my hair wet in the shower, it felt weird to the touch, like it had something bonded to it. The first shampoo didn’t remove the buildup or icky coated feeling. I shampooed a second time, something I never do, and it started to feel slightly better, but I could still feel something wasn’t right with my hair. Usually after shampooing, it feels clean and smooth. I didn’t want to do a third shampoo, so I used my regular conditioner and hoped for the best . After blowdrying my hair, it still looked dull and had none of its regular shine or softness which is not at all how my hair usually looks and feels after washing it. The gritty, gummy, feeling at the roots was gone and so was the itching, but my hair still doesn’t feel like it did before I used this product. It definitely damaged my hair. I wish I had checked out the ingredients more thoroughly before buying it. I noted that most of the reviewers who posted a photo or video did so immediately after styling, following their first use of the product, which is when it looks and feels its best. After only a few hours of being in your hair, that’s when the damaging effects will start to appear. This product is getting super over-hyped on social media by influencers. please don’t make the same mistake I did and fall for it . If you need lift at the roots, just use a good quality hairspray and styling products. I reached out to ColorWow with my concerns, and they offered to exchange this product for a different one if I return it. However, after reviewing the list of similar sounding ingredients in their other formulations, I’m going to take the financial hit and the lesson to be more careful in the future. I spent $25 on some thing that is genuinely terrible and should be pulled from the market.

As someone with baby fine, stick straight hair I am always looking for more volume. I have purchased this product on repeat numerous times, and keep coming back to it as one of the best I have found for my hair. You need to be willing to use a little bit of heat to really get the benefits. Even when I want a wash and go ease, I throw my head upside down and use the dryer for 2 minutes just to activate the product. It works great, does not leave my hair feeling heavy or sticky and still leaves it feeling reasonably clean the following day. I would definitely recommend for fine hair.
