  • Affordable Instant shade and bug protection!
I love this Instant Screened Canopy because I can set it up and take it down by myself. I am a senior lady. I had a gazebo over my inflatable hot tub which is outdoors. Last winter during a major wind storm the wind picked up my gazebo and tossed it down into a ravine. It was all bent up and it took 4 of us to haul it back up the hill. I did not want to go through that again and I wanted something that I could easily put up and take down in bad weather without having to rely on others to help me. The directions (which I did not find until after the canopy was already put up as it was in the bag with the stakes) and box said it took a minimum of two people to put it up so I called my Son over to help me. We struggled and struggled for close to a half hour. He said are you sure it didn't come with directions? I said nope. I kept telling him I did see from comments online that you have to start from the inside. We struggled again and then decided to leave it. I came inside and went to the Coleman website and downloaded the manual. We were trying to put it up with the poles on the inside. Duh! With the directions in hand it was a piece of cake to put up and I did it all by myself in a matter of about 5 minutes like everyone else has said. I can not stress enough, make sure your poles are on the outside, not the inside. Make sure zippers are unzipped. Buy stronger stakes because the ones that come with it are not much more than a bent nail. The directions are inside of the bag with the stakes but in the event you lose them the Coleman website has downloadable instructions. This is a nice little screened canopy. I like it as well as I liked my 8x8' gazebo, if not better. It requires no tools to set it up other than a hammer to pound in the stakes and a few sandbags for the corners wouldn't hurt. It serves the purpose that I bought it for which is to provide bug protection and to keep the pine needles out of the spa when I have the cover off and I am using it. It is priced right. With proper staking it is a pretty solid screened canopy. It came all the way down to the ground so no worry about bugs crawling under it as some had said. I will definitely take it down during the winter as we get a lot of wind and snow. It looks like it will hold up for several years with little care. I highly recommend if you are looking for an easy to put up, take down, take anywhere, screened cover and if the mosquitoes are still biting? Avon's Skin so Soft is the best mosquito repellent I have ever used. No kidding! ... show more

  • Outdoor Must Have!
Color: Moss Size: 15 x 13ft Style: Contains PFAS
**Quick and Easy Setup**: The standout feature of the Skylodge is its instant setup capability. Within minutes, I had the entire structure up and ready. The intuitive design and pre-attached poles make assembly a breeze, even for those who might be new to camping. It's a huge time-saver, allowing you to focus more on enjoying your trip rather than wrestling with tent poles and complicated instructions. **Spacious and Comfortable**: The Skylodge offers ample space, making it perfect for family outings or group camping trips. The screened canopy provides a generous, bug-free living area where you can relax, dine, or play games without worrying about pesky insects. The ceiling height is impressive, allowing even tall campers to move around comfortably without feeling cramped. **Sturdy and Durable**: Coleman has always been synonymous with quality, and the Skylodge is no exception. The tent is constructed from high-quality materials that withstand various weather conditions. During a recent trip, we encountered strong winds and a bit of rain, but the Skylodge stood firm and kept us dry and secure. **Ventilation and Light**: The tent's design ensures excellent ventilation, which is crucial for a comfortable camping experience. The large windows and mesh walls allow for plenty of airflow, preventing the tent from becoming stuffy. Additionally, the skylight feature is fantastic, letting in natural light during the day and offering a view of the stars at night. **Thoughtful Features**: Coleman has included several thoughtful features that enhance the overall camping experience. The storage pockets are handy for keeping small items organized, and the built-in screen room is a game-changer for those who want to enjoy the outdoors without the hassle of bugs. The tent's aesthetic is also pleasing, blending well with natural surroundings. **Portability**: Despite its size, the Skylodge is surprisingly portable. It comes with a convenient carrying bag that makes transportation easy. Whether you're heading to a campsite or setting it up in your backyard, you'll find it manageable and stress-free to carry and store. **Value for Money**: Considering the quality, features, and convenience, the Coleman Skylodge Screened Canopy Tent offers excellent value for money. It's an investment that promises numerous enjoyable camping experiences for years to come. I highly recommend it to anyone looking to enhance their camping experience with a touch of convenience and luxury. ... show more

  • Nice easy to put up and take down/fits in its bag.
She has this thing for some kind of tent outside the trailer. Of course we have had the big complicated ones to put together only to have to take them down and figure out how to stuff them back into the thing they came in. Lots o parts and pieces and cussing while trying to put them together. If you have read any of my other reviews. I tend to cuss a lot when things don't work right or give me a problem. So, back to this. Here we go again, she forces me to buy a tent so the mosquito's won't get her. So, I try to find something that will mitigate previously noted issues with tents and is not too expensive. Well, what do you know, this thing is great. I mean really really nice. It is intuitive to put up just pops right up and voila you are done. AND, it goes down just as easy AND if fits in the thing it came in without having to perfectly fold it exactly as it originally came...if you know what I mean. I'm impressed and have no problem putting it up for her and it meets her needs. Even wet, it was OK as we could just shake off most of the moisture and put it up at the next place and it was dry in a half hour and the zip up holder dried just as easily and kept the back of the truck dry. Nicely designed product. Easy to put up and take down and keeps the mosquitoes at bay and is nice for two to sit with dogs small table and coffee in the morning. ... show more

  • Perfect for camping Perfect for camping
We were really pleased with this screen tent. We just used it this weekend on a 3-day camping trip and it worked great to keep the bugs and bees away while cooking and hanging out. Super easy to put up and take down. Assembly and disassembly - 5 stars: I decided to put it up in the backyard before camping and it went up in about 5 minutes...but only because I thought the poles went on the inside. They don't. Be sure to have the poles on the OUTSIDE when you unfold it from the bag and it goes up in about 2 minutes if you're doing it by yourself. The legs are easy to extend and you just pull them until the little metal "button" pops into place in the legs. Just push that same button when you're ready to take it down, slide the pieces together, fold them up at the top, and tie them all together. The whole thing folds up nicely and fits into the bag easily without having to shoehorn it in. We previously had a screen tent that we purchased about 15 years ago that had separate pieces for the legs and they'd constantly fall off when we were trying to assemble the tent. It'd take a good half hour to put it up and it was always a test of our marriage. :) This is a phenomenal improvement over the old styles of screen tents. Size - 4 stars: One thing to note and the reason for 4 stars: since the top is angled in, you lose about 12" on each side for standing or sitting room. Not a deal breaker, but it's good to be aware of. We fit 2 camping chairs, a 3'x3' table, a metal stand and ice chest, a 3'x4' (approx) folding table, and a collapsable 30-gallon garbage can and still had room for the two of us to move around. My husband is 6' tall and had more than enough headroom when standing. The pictures aren't great because I had to bump up the exposure, but they'll give you an idea of what fits. Stability - 5 stars (under conditions of little to no wind): We didn't experience any major wind so we didn't have any issues with this thing moving around. We did use the stakes to tie it down. When we first set it up in the back yard, I didn't stake it down and we had a pretty good breeze but it didn't tip over (our new tent, however, did tip over since it wasn't staked down). Performance - 5 stars: There were a lot of small bugs when we were camping but they didn't make it through the mesh. I did end up staking one door flap on each side to keep the moths from walking under (one managed to walk through before I staked the doors). There are zippered doors on each side which were great since the truck was on one side and the picnic table and tent were on the other. This made it super convenient since you could go in and out on either side. The zippers have little rope ties on them so they're easy to grab. The zippers move very smoothly and never got stuck (and we gave those doors a workout). I do recommend staking one side of each door (each side of the door flaps have little loops for stakes) to make it easier to pull the zippers up. I didn't do this at first and had to step on the material while I pulled up on the zipper. This got old fast which is why I ended up staking them. Ties for lighting - 5 stars: There's a tie on the inside of the roof so you can strap a batter-powered lantern or headlight for lighting. I also strung two sets of Recesco battery-powered globe lights around the outside and attached them with velcro ties for some nice ambiance lighting. RECESKY Battery Operated Globe String Lights 30 LED 20.8ft Waterproof Fairy Crystal Ball Decor Lighting for Outdoor Indoor Garden Yard Lawn Party House Christmas Ornament Decorations (Warm White) Overall we're really happy with this purchase and I'd definitely recommend it if you're looking for a good screen tent. I always spend hours scouring the product reviews on Amazon before purchasing things like this, so thank you to the other great reviews for pointing us in the right direction! ... show more

  • So easy to set up!
Color: Moss Size: 10 x 10ft Style: Contains PFAS
I'm a 5'5" 112 lb middle aged woman and was afraid this might be cumbersome to carry and put up alone. I just took it out on a 5 day camping trip and it was not cumbersome at all. It's not particularly light but light enough that I could put it in and out of my car roof carrier without difficulty. The materials and craftsmanship appear excellent and I'd expect this to last a good while. I did watch videos online to make sure I could unfold and fold this which was helpful because they had some hints to do it more easily alone. Unzipping the flaps before setting it up was a huge help. The set up could not have been simpler though. I walked around the tent and unfolded each leg and then went around and pushed each one up until it snapped into place. So easy! The tent was plenty roomy and kept out bugs while providing also shade. Take down was just as simple and took just a few minutes. So easy to setup and take down that it will be coming along on all of my camping trips even if it's just a one nighter. So glad I made this purchase! ... show more

  • High quality but not very useful
If I had just set this up in my back yard to check it out, I would have rated it five stars. It goes up super easily, has nice metal poles and seems to be high quality in construction overall. Unfortunately, in practice it has turned out to be of very limited usefulness for me and I think it will be to many others as well. For starters, while this covers a 10x10 area--plenty for most picnic tables by the way--it's roof is much smaller than that. This is OK if you are using this only for shelter from insects but for shade/rain protection, it severely limits its effectiveness. Only a small area is protected from even the lightest drizzle and if there is any wind at all, it does not help even a small bit. On a perfectly still day, w/ a light drizzle, maybe two or three people in chairs can stay relatively dry w/ no table between them. It is not really sold as a rain shelter so I guess that is OK but also the small size roof limits shade and given that this thing is marketed as providing sun protection, that to me is a pretty severe defect. As a bug shelter it works OK but even then the skirt around the bottom is not quite long enough to compensate for uneven ground so it still lets bugs in around the edges. It is definitely better than nothing but still, another four inches of fabric and perhaps a few points to stake it to the ground and it would be a lot better. Another small gripe I have is that for the size of it, it is relatively long when packed up, which can make it hard to pack in some smaller cars (I had trouble getting it into the trunk of my PT Cruiser for what it's worth). The upside of this is the fact that the poles do not collapse into so many sections is what makes it so easy to set up but I thought that this limitation was worth mentioning. So in short, I think this shelter is a near miss. It is well built, it works OK as a bug shelter but seems to need some redesign to shelter you from anything else. ... show more

  • Great accessory for car camping trips! Great accessory for car camping trips!
So far, I have brought this to the beach and to the Firefly Music Festival (2015). It felt ultra-luxurious at the beach, since the doors are designed to be tied back easily and we could just sprawl underneath it like desert kings for a whole day without getting too hot or risk getting burned. But it really proved its worth at Firefly. To begin with, setup is literally under 2 minutes with 2 people; everyone commented on how easy it was to put up compared to the admittedly lighter canopies made with fiberglass poles. It gave us decent shade under the blazing afternoon sun. Four large camping chairs and a big fat cooler fit easily with plenty of leg room. The screens kept mosquitoes and flies out for the times we remembered to keep the whole thing zipped shut (though yes, ants can just crawl in under the floor flaps, but that didn't really bother us). The ceiling has a built-in loop for lanterns or glowsticks, which is nice for late-night chats/bedtime tasks. Then a freak thunderstorm/tornado warning/strong wind madness shut the music festival down on Saturday night, and I was pretty sure this thing was going to blow away, especially since we didn't use anything except regular L-shaped aluminum tent stakes. When we woke up and saw that it was still standing in one piece while shade tents all around us had been knocked over or ripped to shreds, I felt like I had won some kind of personal victory. Yes, everything that we left underneath it during the storm was soaked -- but the canopy is like 80% mesh, and it was taking a hard, sideways rain, so I'm not surprised at all. Finally, I'm a 5'2", 100lb girl and find this pretty easy to carry by myself when it's all folded up in its bag. I plan to just leave it in the trunk of my car now, in case I want to set up a lounge area anywhere on the fly. ... show more

  • Easy set up and great build quality
Color: Moss Size: 15 x 13ft Style: Contains PFAS
The screen canopy is super easy to set up with 2 people, and provides ample room for 2 recliner folding chaises for bug-free enjoyment of the great outdoors. We keep this in our RV and it is light enough for easy carrying but sturdy enough to not worry about in windy weather. Very good product!
