I was interested in learning if the sipper/stirrers got flimsy or melted in hot beverages as some reviewers have reported. Here is what I learned: When stirring hot coffee from a Mr. Coffee coffee maker they don't get flimsy. However, when stirring just-boiled water for tea, they do get flimsy. If you drink tea that hot, your mouth is going to get burned. So, consider the stirrers' flimsiness or lack thereof as a heat detection warning device: "If the stirrer's not straight, you must blow and wait." ... show more

Straw melts in hot coffee. The plastic is weak and cannot withstand hot liquid. This should not be advertised as "stirrer for coffee."

I got them because they are tall and cheaper than wooden sticks, but they don't hold up well to heat. They bend like a frownie-face! Here is a photo of a straight one next to the one i stirred my hot coffee with this morning. It wasn't even boiling hot! It still gets the job done...just feels weird trying to move liquid water/coffee with something soft. ... show more

As someone who has worked in restaurants, I love all things bar/restaurant related!! I enjoy a cocktail and am working to expand our home bar in presentation and inventory. ;) I bought this set of straws hoping they would complement the set up and work perfectly with the rocks glasses I own. They were perfect!!! Exactly as expected and I would highly recommend if this is what you're looking for. I especially like the black color as they feel slightly more distinguished than multi-colored ones I've seen elsewhere and bought before. First off, the straws ARE NOT any thicker or stronger than a regular soda straw. I will stick to the straws I buy from Walmart which are closer in quality to the straws offered at coffee shops. No safety seal, and straws poking out - ewww. Box sent in bag. Straws going in the trash.

these are hard to come by. so glad i found them here. I wanted them for an embroidery project, and didn't need that many, but it was the only ones i could find. so glad i did purchase them. Very skinny straws that coffee shops used to use as a stir stick, but not flat stick. Also used in mixed drinks from a bartender. Wish it came in multicolors. ... show more

I needed basic coffee stirrers for a good price. These fit the bill. Quality, sturdy, and work fine. The only possible downside is that they are shorter than the taller stirrers I am used to. This usually isn't a problem as you do not need to stir to the very bottom of a cup of coffee to effectively stir it but I would prefer a longer size in the future. You are going to use these for 2 seconds then throw them out after all. These are good and a good value. All good. ... show more
