Makes a great cup of coffee. Isn't this what it's all about. This is a nice small espresso maker with milk foamer. The unit is compact and doesn't have all of the bells and whistles that the expensive machines have....but isn't that the point? It's about coffee, not show. The unit can produce a nice good size cup of coffee in just a few minutes, then a few more for the foamed milk. It's simple...add water to the chamber then select the function from the side level....two choices. Coffee or foam. (or three choices, if you want to include "off".) The unit is well constructed and comes with a plastic (not glass) carafe, as well as the other tools needed to "tamp" down the coffee grounds and a cleaning probe to clean the foaming head. It's easy to understand and easy to use. If you are looking for a fast and reasonable cup of espresso with or without foamed milk, all in a compact foot print, AND at a reasonable price....this is a great option! If you are looking for a huge, expensive, confusing behemoth to make your morning coffee and impress your friends, this might not be what you are looking for. But, you could probably buy a dozen of these for the same price! Summary.... A great, small footprint, well made, easy to understand and use, espresso maker that is VERY REASONABLY priced. It's hard to beat. *Note....to make a great cup of coffee...be sure to get great coffee and grind it properly. That's an essential part of the recipe, that is required for ANY espresso machine.

This is a nice-looking machine with a convenient footprint and nice weight to it. It definitely works for making decent espresso-based drinks. It has some issues, however, that make me dread using it. The little pot is made of some kind of plastic rather than glass, which is a good thing to avoid breakage, but it leaks out when you try to pour it and espresso spills no matter what you do. It doesn't fit into the machine as well as I would like, either. The coffee filter handle is fiddly to get in and twist closed. I'm never completely certain that it's in there correctly. The instructions state that it is supposed to beep when installed correctly, but it doesn't. It hasn't failed me yet, though, despite that. No big accidents. Although it's much faster than a regular coffee maker at heating water and making the espresso, it's still not as fast as others I have tried. For this price range (less than 50), it's about what I would expect. My main problem is that you have to brew the coffee and have enough steam to froth your milk, but there's no real way to get this right. You put in the water and it still makes a different amount of coffee every time, likely because different amounts of steam escape out the sides as you are brewing. I have yet to brew my little pot of coffee and have enough steam left over to properly steam and froth my milk before it stops on me. Then I have to put in more water, wait for it to heat up, then finish steaming the milk. It takes me almost 15 minutes of hands-on/monitoring time to complete a decent-sized cup of coffee. Then I have to carefully clean the wand of cooked-on milk. The coffee ends up very good. Sometimes it's worth the effort, and sometimes not. If you want an economical product that will accomplish the job, this will work. If you are really serious about making your own fancy coffee drinks and plan to use it a lot, it might be worthwhile to spend more and get something quicker and more convenient.
