    • Spinning retracting mechanism was broken on arrival but still works

The mechanism that you spin to release and retract it was DOA but it can still be used by simply manually pulling out the shaft. For that reason it is still usable and decided not to return.

Perfect for clearing shower drains. We kept calling our landlord to snake the drain because of my long hair, but the clogs backed up the drain less than a month later. It was so frequent that we thought we'd take a jab it it with this auger. Turns out our landlord wasn't snaking the drain completely? But just plunging it. While using this auger, we fished out an entire foot-long old hooked plastic snake (from those 2-in-1 drain-o boxes) twisted inside a huge rat-sized blob of wet old hair (queue vomit to sewer smell). Haven't had a clogged drain since. It's been a few months. What a change! Also-totally recommend wearing a N95 mask or anything to mask the awful smell of whatever lurks below. ... show more

This is the kind you want. The handles only get in the way when you are trying to snake under a sink. This one doesn't have the unnecessary handle. You will like it better if you have ever had to use the drain snake in a tight place.
