Okay. First of all, I think the safe is a 5-Star item. That is, if it survives the combination/fingerprint programming. I purchased two safes, and hope to purchase two more - not sure how Customer Service will handle this yet. The instructions are written a bit confusing, but long story short, to program the keypad for your combo & fingerprints, you must pop off the keypad (no access from inside the safe) and push a pin (they call it the 'Setting Key') directly located on the backside of the circuit board. The first safe programmed well, but the keypad was easier to remove. With the second safe, the keypad was tighter, making it more difficult to pop off. When I attempted to remove the keypad on safe #2, the pad abruptly popped off allowing my finger to slip past the plastic holding tab (see three pics) and hit the Setting Key, breaking it off at its mount. This Setting Key/pin, when pressed, only moves, literally, a few thousandths of an inch. Why this pin is so long escapes me. A much better design would've been a button type switch, sitting below the height of the four holding tabs (may offer some protection). OR BETTER YET, just program to press one of the number keys (without having to remove the keypad) for a few seconds to tell it you're programming the combo/biometrics. To silence the keys, you simply depress the #4 key for four seconds (NO keypad removal necessary). Why not do the same for combo/fingerprint programming. Anyway, the safe seems to be of very good quality and construction. Like I said, I'd like to order two more. I'll update this review after having contact with Customer Service. U P D A T E - they handled my situation perfectly! They immediately sent a new safe out telling me that I had 30 days (they supplied the label) to return the old one. I will be ordering more. Knowing how that setting key works (while still a poor design (IMO)) is key - pun intended. Was gonna do 4-stars, but decided to bump it to a 5. THANKS Customer Service!

This gun safe worked great to mount to the side of my bedroom furniture. I needed to add an extension piece with some longer screws to allow the door to open freely due to the decorative corner design of the furniture that projected outside of the side panel. Installed on a very slight downward angle to provide extra speed when opening the door. Finger print or key code opening is fast and simple. The instructions could be a little better on where the password “setting key” is located. It is hidden below the key pad, meaning you have to feel for it when the safe is open. Took me at least 10 times trying to use the finger print button as the setting key before I really went back and searched the instructions for the smaller text that explain its location within the panel description. Maybe an addition to the instructions would save some others the frustration of programming the initial finger prints and codes.

This is a a nice product! Keep your weapon safely locked up but close and at a finger touch. My first one arrived with a disconnected piece inside and I returned it and had a replacement before I even Shipped the first one back. It is a good design, but a simple but necessary interior screw just had come loose on transport. The replacement works amazing straight out of the box and I love it. Works off fingerprints or code or in emergency the key. The drawer slides out smooth and quiet.

Do not buy this safe! It’s not safe. I purchased this safe for my sidearm as I have kids and wanted to have fingerprinted access. It worked well for a month but it’s been consistently opening after rejecting a finger print. Like a un programmed finger, brothers hand or my wife’s hands that are not programmed. It goes without saying given what’s kept “locked” inside should only be accessible to those who are allowed access. My biggest fear is if my son were to touch the finger pad the correct way and have it reject the print then open the safe. I have stopped using this product due to the gravity of the safety issue. There are better options I wish I could get my money back. The manufacturer can have there tin-can safe. It’s nothing short of a hazard and liability.

Setup and installation was easy. I now know I have my firearm within reach to protect my home in a safe manner safely out of reach of my children. One of the best features is the biometric fingerprint scanner. The biometrics are awesome and it opens instantly upon reading your finger print. It has consistently provided me quick access, recognizing my fingerprint flawlessly every time. This feature adds an extra layer of security, ensuring that only authorized users can access the firearm. Also has the option of a numeric code or use of a key.

Great product. Purchased to put on my wife's office desk. She works from home and her desk is in the front of the house. We have a 9 year old and we wanted her to have access to the safe, but also wanted to keep kids safe. It has a spring that will open the drawer and the finger print works well. It springs straight out, so make sure that there is nothing that will interrupt the door.

I have another brand with a similar design. Don't know why I changed brands but this one was easy to mount and set up. Only negative comment I have is that it is holding a Taurus .357 revolver and it barely fits. I had to carve out the foam where the barrel rests to get it to fit without rubbing on the grips. I can't say if it is better or worse than the other brand I have because the other brand only has a Glock 43 in it.
