Description

Our largest Gumball Bank combines a 7.5"(19.05 cm) cast metal base with a 7.5"(19.05 cm) clear glass globe for an impressive 15"(38.1 cm) height. The solid cast metal base gives it a substantial feel and stability. The internally threaded metal bottom plate can be mounted on top of the cast metal floor stand, which is 23"(58.42 cm) tall, bringing the overall height to 38"(96.52 cm) with both Gumball Bank and Stand. The dispensing mechanism is adjustable to vary the amount of candies or gumballs dispensed and an anti- spill cover keeps those candies or gumballs in the tray.

There were imperfections on the metal and bubbles in the glass. But, other than that, I’m so happy with this gumball machine! We painted it black to match our home decor. I feel obligated to write a review because reading others' comments prior to my purchase is what persuaded me to buy. It is TRUE ... This candy machine is both beautiful and solid. Points I'd like to highlight: The shipping was lightening fast. I was expecting a week, at minimum, until it arrived, yet it was delivered within three days. The machine (which comes assembled) and the stand (which requires assembly, but is a cinch) were all packaged with protective sleeves. I was impressed. It was a breeze to assemble the stand and then mount the machine onto the stand, and I actually have no skills in this department whatsoever; just me and a dinky little screwdriver were able to construct it without any issue/trouble. NOTHING about this machine looks cheap. It's beautifully constructed. An adult will need to bend over to dispense candy into their hand. In general terms, the height of this machine (assembled and on the stand) is maybe an inch or two higher than a standard countertop height. For kids, it is the perfect height. It's not dinky at all, but just thought I'd point out it's not 5 or 6 feet tall, if that's what you're expecting. I easily disassembled the machine in order to make it a "free spin" (where you still must turn the dial to dispense candy, but it does not require a coin to do so). Another reviewer commented that it was a hassle to retrieve coins, given that you need to disassemble the machine each time you wish to do so. And I agree, it would be. It's not complicated to take apart and put back together, but just not something I would be inclined to do on a regular basis. I cleaned the parts of the machine where candy would touch and then filled it with about a cup of jellybeans to test it out. It worked flawlessly! I had a ball turning the wheel and seeing the candy come down the shoot, so I can only imagine how wondrous this machine must be for children. At the time I disassemble the machine to turn off the coin requirement, I also adjusted the portion unit. You can choose a range of options (a wide to narrow opening) to control how much candy is dispensed. This, too, was extremely easy. The media could not be loaded. It a very nice gumball machine. Basically to put it together just had to screw the stand together and into the bottom the gumball machine. Then just unscrew top pour in gumballs and screw top on. Set to use quarters and three gumballs come out. I showed it in video. Worked nicely had no problems. Glass globe fine .     • Fun but not sturdy
We love this gumball machine and it's been quite the hit with our grandchildren, children and visitors. To keep the Littles from overdoing the sugar we kept it coin operated and have a jar of coins up high next to the gumball machine. The amount that is dispensed can be adjusted which is also helpful. My only complaint is that the stand wobbles therefore we have it setup in a corner and on carpet rather than our tile. Oh! If you'reike me and easily confused on how to reassemble it once you took it apart to adjust how much is dispensed TAKE A PICTURE before taking it apart. That would've saved me some time as the directions are not as clear as I need. ... show more

Only the machine has cast-iron. The stand is a light-weight metal. I'll need to take a stand in saying that someone needs to update the description of the stand. It was a disappointment to have purchased a great, cast-iron(?) gumball machine only to have the stand it came with be light-weight metal. I'm willing to bet it's aluminum. I read the description carefully because I wanted to make sure I got a cast-iron machine and stand, but unfortunately Carousel omitted some information so it read as if both the machine and stand are cast-iron. I would have paid for cast-iron if needed. The instructions were okay, but a little unclear for how to get the screws and nuts into the legs, but it just took a quick YouTube search and I was able to figure it out. I'll need to do another search for how to modify the machine to dispense a little more candy. As-is results in 3 m&ms. If both parts were cast-iron I'd be raving about this purchase! I bought it to start teaching a very sweet-toothed little girl that money has value and to also keep her from eating too many sweets all at once. Most of all, I wanted it to be FUN! and it is!!! I love the classic look. It's the perfect size for kids, but not adults. The description was clear on height so it's my fault for not taking out a tape measure to actually realize how short it is, but I'm happy with the purchase (minus the lightweight metal stand). Suggestion to Carousel: Have an option to purchase a cast-iron stand and also include price stickers for the machine. We'd like to change the cost as related to product so the little one learns the difference of coin values too. Right now we are just saying that only quarters work. shhh. BTW: Carousel responds quickly to questions posted on Amazon. I was impressed. ... show more
