  • The Universal CircuPool 55K gallon Chlorinator has been a great buy on my 30K gallon pool.
Size: 55,000 Gallon Max
I bought the CircuPool 55K gallon chlorinator in May 2024. It was relatively easy to install, I did it myself in a few hours. It's November 2024 and I noticed my pool had some yellow algae in it. I checked the chlorinator and it had turned off stating that the cells needed maintainance. I disconnected the chlorinator using a large plier like oil filter wrench, took 2 minutes. Then I found the old cleaning cap from my old sucky pentair chlorinator that this replaced, found the pentair cap fit perfectly. So I propped up the CircuPool chlorinator and filled it with a 1-4 mix of muriatic acid and let it sit. It didn't look that dirty, but I did notice some fizzing. I gave it 15 minutes until the fizzing stopped, poured the used muriatic acid down the toilet. Then flushed the CircuPool unit with water. Reconnected everything, and it was producing chlorine again. So for my 30K gallon pool, looks like I have to clean the chlorinator about every 6 months. That's reasonable, having to clean was expected. I like that I went oversized on the chlorinator, I run it at 20-30% power and you can smell the excess chlorine being produced in the water. I live in Florida and its hot, lots of sun to burn up the chlorine, lots of rain to dilute the water, and this thing has really made my life easier and I don't get any yellow algae when the chlorinator and my pump is working proper. All I generally do is add Muriatic acid every couple weeks, about 1/3 gallon, and the pool stays nice and clean and sanitary with the right PH. I do have Vingli pool cleaner as well, inexpensive and it does a good job at sucking up debris on the bottom. One feature that I like about the chlorinator is the FlowSwitch. If the water is not circulating, then the chlorinator shuts off. This is especially helpful because I get a lot of power outages that trigger my pentair pump to shut off. If power comes back on and without that flow switch, the chlorinator would run without any water pump circulation which I think shortens the chlorinator life. I really wish my pentair pump had a battery backup or something, but otherwise its been a very reliable pump, going on 8 years now. One other thing I like about this chlorinator is that it requires much less salt than my old Pentair model. I actually had to drain 1/3 of the pool water out when I first installed it as the pump read that the salt levels were too high. Added back fresh water, things have been great since. No one paid me for this review, I've burned plenty of vendors where necessary. I spend a little time writing reviews as I find they really help me when choosing products. I always state the product name in the review, and if a car part I always state the model and year that the part fixed. I really wish more people would do this, I find those reviews so helpful, and I always look at the most recent reviews as the first ones you see are not typically legit and created by the vendor or their friends. Happy Thanksgiving to everyone. Take care. ... show more

  • Successfully used to replace Hayward Aqua Rite system
Size: 40,000 Gallon Max
I can recommend this to be used as an almost dropin replacement for Aqua Rite with T Cell 15, which is what I did. It took me about 2 hours to remove the old system and get the Circupool installed and running. It is working fine but December is the wrong time of year to really give it a good test as the pool water is not hot. Why I chose Circupool: Not pleased with the reliability of the Aqua Rite (more later) when its cell failed I looked at alternatives. The Circupool has several attractive features: 1) claimed easy replacement of Aqua Rite; 2) significantly lower purchase cost; 3) 4-year warranty (although it phases out instead of being true full 4 years); and 4) Circupool being OK with owner installation, including warranty service. Good to know if considering as an Aqua Rite replacement: The Circupool cell does indeed just drop in. I unscrewed the fittings from the Aqua Rite T Cell, pulled it out, and was able to directly put in the new cell using the same fittings...no replumbing at all required. A plus is I was able to use my existing flow switch - the electrical connector on its wire plugged into the Circupool control box and it was recognized. So no replumbing required to swap flow switches! On the negative side the Circupool control box has a different size than the Aqua Rite, and a different location on the bottom of the box for the power cord. So I did have to drill new mounting holes and rework electrical conduit, which is why the replacement took 2 hours instead of 30 minutes. Addressing these differences would be a nice improvement to this product. I won't be able to know about the hot weather operation of the Circupool, nor its reliability, for a while. If it does fail and requires a warranty replacement, the plus which Circupool offers over Aqua Rite is I expect to be able to do it myself, as compared to Aqua Rite which required an authorized service company to provide the warranty service while not paying for that service. I plan to update my review over time as I have experience with the Circupool. History of my Aqua Rite lack of reliability, for anyone considering Aqua Rite (my pool is about 20K gallons, located in south Texas): Purchased new in 2012. Since then the cell has failed 5 times. 3 of those were under warranty, once I purchased a new cell. The most recent failure was the same as what happened once before -- although the cell was still generating chlorine the salt sensor (built into the cell) was resulting in salt level readings much lower than what was in the water, resulting in chlorine generation being automatically shut down due to (inaccurate) low salt levels. In addition to the cell failures the main board in the control unit was replaced once under warranty, and was in fact ready to be replaced again because the little push button switch had worn out and would no longer function. So far I am highly pleased with the Circupool system. I hope it is reliable. ... show more

  • Works great and priced well
Size: 40,000 Gallon Max
I was still using the original system (major brand), and had to replace the salt cell two years ago. Purchased an off-brand replacement ($400 instead of $800). Temp sensor failed after 15 months (bypassed it) and cell failed recently. Since the original was over 10 years old and had burned through a few thermistors, I decided to take a chance on this system. Everything was an exact match except for the actual control box, which required putting new holes in the wall and patching the old ones. System has been running strong for a couple of weeks and I have no complaints. Ultimately ended up with an entire system for just a few dollars more than a brand name replacement salt cell would cost. The 4 year warranty is pro-rated. I’ll update this if anything changes, but I highly recommend this unit. ... show more

  • Worried I wasted a thousand bucks on cheap Chinese junk
Size: 25,000 Gallon Max
Doesn't generate enough chlorine and getting "high salt" indicator when Leslie's electronic test says to add salt. When i turn on "SuperChlor" the superchl9r indicator light does not go on. I'm afraid I wasted a thousand dollars on cheap Chinese garbage :(

  • Direct replacement for Aqua Rite, Super Easy Install.
Size: 40,000 Gallon Max
Super Happy with the product. Direct replacement for Aqua Rite 15 cell. Literally took less than 20 minutes to install. The manufactures website and product support is also pretty impressive. I typed in a question and before I could finish typing, the answer came up. This unit was about 40% less than the Aqua Rite equipment and as far as I can tell, it is as good or a better product. ... show more
