Bought this to help with swollen ankles after two surgeries. The boots don’t cover the ankles, just calf and foot. These boots are worthless to me. Update: seller reached out with valuable suggestions, although compression might not in exact location, some adjustments may improve adjacent blood flow positively impacting current swelling. ... show more

    • Slippery soles. Fall hazard removing or putting back on. PAINFUL to use at lowest setting
I have to take salt tablets which is making my legs, ankles and feet swell. I never had pitting edema in my life; my heart function and kidneys are normal. It is due to a simple complication of being prescribed 3 grams of salt a day. Your legs/feet would swell too if you took that much. So I bought these in hopes to reduce the swelling. Here are my issues: (1) I almost slipped and fell trying to take these off, even sitting on a chair. There is absolutely NO TRACTION on the bottom of the feet. I am on blood thinners. (2) I am completely alert and oriented, and wanted to use these while working on my PC. I had the impression from all the "glorious reviews" it would help with the painful edema. (PS I have no blood clots in my legs). You do ***NOT*** have an option of adjusting the timing. It is very annoying to have to press that button every 11 minutes. (3) Try getting up to go to use the restroom--You need to take them off. Although advertised as easy--it is not. When it first goes on at the LOWEST setting and sequential (default) it will really hurt! You had better watch your footing taking them off and on and sit on the chair. With no carpeting in your room you will find your feet slipping all over the place. (4) When you think of this device, think SPAM. Why? You will be interrupted EVERY 11 minutes to have to press the button back on again. Occasionally you will wonder if it is still on so you are again distracted to see if you have to press the button again. It's just very, very annoying. When you are hard of hearing like I am--you cannot depend on the sound of it inflating/deflating. (5) Do not forget this will need cleaning. You cannot just wear it forever. (6) The length of the hose from boot connections to the device button will have to remain on the floor because it is too short. You cannot put it on the desk, so you are constantly looking at the floor to see if it is on or off. (7) In short this will *NOT* relieve edema, is painful to use, NO traction on the bottom of the feet whatsoever and is very slippery; the boots are difficult to remove and take off for restroom issues, and you are constantly distracted to see if the device is on or off if you have hearing issues like I do. You have no setting to adjust how long you want it on or off. Even at the lowest setting in sequential, it will really hurt. Using ordinary compression stockings works just as well. I have decided to take this back. First try I absolutely HATE this. (8) Did I receive a returned one? I received absolutely ***NO*** paperwork in the package. It's the truth. ... show more
