Cute; Adds a Layer of Warmth and Rain Protection

This is a wonderful little abbreviated trench or raincoat. I think it is adorable. Mind you, it is not going to look like a high-end trench coat. Yet it is cute, and it does the job. It is warm to wear and protective against rain. Everything is polyester, but that adds to the warmth. It is soft enough to be mistaken for cotton. I am 5' 6" tall and weight 150. The X-Large was recommended for me, and it fits perfectly. I do find that clothing made in China tends to run small for us big Westerners. Normally, I would wear a Large; sometimes even a Medium. It has a cute, ruffled collar that stands up. I am of an age where ruffles do not look good on me, but the jacket has enough style to it to make the small ruffles look tailored. The sleeves have this nice plaid that only covers the inside lower part of the sleeve--the whole lining does not have the cute plaid, which would be nice. It would be particularly nice if the collar were lined with the same plaid. The material and printing on the plaid looks on the cheap side, but I think it is a nice touch. I think this is a lovely little jacket to throw on when autumn weather turns a little stormy and you want a layer of protection from the chill and rain. It is just what I have wanted for some time. I recommend it.

Well made but size Small fit like an generous medium

I ordered this cute jacket in light khaki in a size small and I don't feel either the size or color were accurate. To me, the color is a light camel color, definitely golden tan-ish. Normally, I wear a large but the small comes very close to fitting me, I am 5' 3" tall and 140 lbs. Now all that doesn't mean I don't like the jacket, it is very cute, the ruffle on the collar taking it a little bit away from run-of-the-mill. Another elevating factor is the contrasting plaid/check sleeve lining, the sleeves are cut extra long to accomodate cuffing them. Unfortunately, the main lining is not plaid, it is a perfect color match to the outer shell fabric. This jacket is light weight, almost like a windbreaker and the fabric is very supple and comfortable to wear but does not have any stretch. There are nice little touches like the pocket welts and really well made buttonholes. The cut is not form fitting, more on the boxy side. This is a cute jacket a little on the high side for price IMO but it is well made. I took away 1 star due to it not being true to size and I start all my reviews based on 4 stars. I would recommend if you account for sizing.

It is nice coat but wasn’t for me. I guess it was a bit boxy on me. I do like the ruffles at the top, it makes it really cute. If it would fit me better I would keep it but unfortunately I returned it.

Don't let the khaki color fool you, this coat has more personality than a basic trench.

I ordered this expecting a basic fall jacket. What arrived was a coat with opinions — ruffles, a stand collar, plaid cuffs, the whole production. It's giving "trench coat that got a little too excited about autumn." The fit runs cropped, which I wasn't expecting but ended up loving — it hits right at the hip, so it layers well over pretty much everything without adding bulk. The single-breasted button front gives it a polished, put-together look even on days when "put-together" is generous for what's actually happening underneath it. The plaid cuffs are a nice unexpected detail — just enough print to feel intentional without turning the whole thing into a costume. My husband's review was "that looks nice, are you leaving?" which in husband-speak translates to a solid compliment. My cat, for her part, immediately identified it as the best coat in the closet and made her opinion known by sitting on it the one time I left it on the bed instead of hanging it up. Message received. It now lives on a hanger, away from feline judgment. Fabric feels sturdy, not flimsy, and the ruffle detail along the collar adds just enough flair without feeling fussy. Fully lined too. It's become my go-to grab-and-go layer for anything from errands to slightly-nicer-than-errands.

I love the design details on this chic cropped trench!

The ruffled collar is what sold me on this cropped trench. It gives a feminine twist to a classic style, and the khaki color has that polished, heritage trench look without the designer price tag. The plaid lining at the rolled cuffs is another fun detail and gives a little nod to that classic British style. Sizing was my biggest question because button-front jackets often pull across my chest. For reference, I’m 5'4", around 195 pounds, and full-busted. I ordered the XXL, and I’m glad I did. I probably could have gotten away with the XL, but I’d rather have the extra room to layer a sweater underneath in the fall. The XXL has a slightly oversized fit, but it buttons comfortably without pulling or feeling overly bulky. This is definitely a lightweight jacket rather than a heavy coat, which is perfect for Southern California where I live. I can wear it during fall, or even on a spring evening when I need something to throw over an outfit. The cropped shape makes it feel more modern than a traditional trench and works well with jeans, trousers, or a dress. The construction is well done, and the little design details make it look more expensive than it is.

Comfortable and great for fall weather

Love this lightweight fall jacket. It fits true to size and gives plenty of movable room. Unfortunately it's not made for the bitter cold, as it's not insulated ,or id wear it all the time. The material is comfortable and well made. You can pair it with jeans for casual or slacks to dress it up. It's a decent price.
