The appearance of these plastic, lightweight lanterns is very good and will be a welcome addition to my haunted graveyard. There are two modes of light: a cool white light, very bright, that one could use during an emergency so they are good to keep handy in the house. For Halloween, however, it’s the flickering flame light that is really good, too. These lanterns work from the included remote. Finally, there is a timer function so they can stay on for six hours, off for eighteen, and then turn on again the following night. What’s not to love? If they continue to function as they do right now, this will have been an excellent purchase.

Exactly as described, easy to assemble the few parts, had two modes to use [ground spike and platform], and reasonably priced. Worked perfectly right out of the box. Very surprised how well the remote works from a decent distance away. I used it to turn on and off the projector from the living room to the middle of the front yard [probably 25 feet]. The timer function works well. My only recommendation is that the timer have a 12-14 hours setting instead of a max of 8 hrs. I guess I could always just leave it on too. We're very pleased with this product.

Likes: The remote is easy to understand and use. The timer options and ability to slow down or speed up the projections is a nice feature. The installation with the provided stake was easy and it came with an optional bracket for mounting. I’m using it on a 2-car garage and size-wise it is very visible and projects beyond that. Dislikes: I wish the snowflakes did a figure 8 or something to make them seem a little more natural. They do a clockwise and counterclockwise half turn. However, people driving by will never notice. I haven’t had it long enough to rate durability. It seems well made. Overall, I’m happy and keeping it. The house looks festive without the need to climb onto the roof to install lights.

Cool faux, antique style kerosene lamps. Mostly plastic, with a glass “flame cover” and some metal wire wrapped around it. I keep them on the warm flickering mode, for the effect I wanted outside on the back redwood deck. I turn them on at dusk, to produce a little ambiance to look at from my living room glass doors. They shut off automatically in six hrs, however you’ll have to turn them on each time. They do not have that memory feature we see in flameless candles, that turns it on again at the same exact time. Would like to see that feature added, to the next generation lamps. I will say that after a week or so of using them each day for that 6hr period, the brightness begins to fade fairly quick on the upcoming 5-6 days. As I want the full brightness level always, I was burning through a lot of batteries. So I decided to buy 12 rechargeable AA batteries, and swap them out weekly, to get the brightest desired effect. Overall I’m happy with the product.

This is the second identical one of these projectors that I have purchased. The first one didn't last very long but we liked it when we could get it to work. It was then and still was my first choice among all the offerings but it has its difficulties in using it. The most notable for me was that I could never set it up on timer circuits with my Christmas lights without problems. Every time the timer turned off the lights cutting the power, the unit would revert to its default mode the next time it came on which was a very unpleasant mode for me. I'd have to go out each night with the remote to change the mode to the preferred setting. And if it bothered me, I'd have to do it again in the morning when the Christmas lights were turned on for a couple hours. It was very annoying and especially so when the weather was disagreeable and if the remote began to fail, I had to go up to the actual unit and press the manual button to change the mode. After purchasing this one as a replacement we decided not to use it at all but I found an alternative use for it that I'm actually quite happy with. I've set it up inside my house plugged into a normal wall receptable (no timer). Now I can easily turn on the pre-set mode with the remote since it doesn't turn the power off, only the unit. I've selected a pleasant pattern to light up the ceiling and far wall with stars and snowflackes and it is great fun. You want to set it up so it doesn't shine in anyone's eyes, it's projector bulb is very bright indoors but the patterns on the walls and ceiling provide a pleasant ambient light. For this purpose, alone, I'm willing to give it 5 stars and hope that it has a longer life-span than the first one.

Once you get the projector set the way you want it, the snow flakes look great! We have a two-story home and it does a great job of covering a large portion of one side of the house. The snow flakes look crisp and clear and there are multiple modes for displaying them. Unfortunately, the mode we like, isn't the default mode. And once the light turns off, it seems to forget what settings you placed it on. It returns to the "default" the next time it comes on. This means that every time it comes on we have to manually adjust it. Problem number two is that the remote does not seem to function reliably. Sometimes it works as it should and others it is erratic, or doesn't work at all. This would typically be a sign of a bad battery. I've not had the chance to try a different battery, but shouldn't have to since the device is brand new. Finally, there is no information about the company on the box, instruction manual, or the card they sent asking for a review (only a Hotmail address). So, not much of a way to seek customer service. If the device remembered it's last setting and the remote functioned properly, this would be worthy of 5 stars as the projection looks wonderful. Unfortunately, these are pretty big flaws, IMO.

I bought a Dancing Snowflake Projector Light and only used it for 2 Christmases. When I took it out this year, the remote didn't work correctly even when I installed new batteries, the cord is coming out of the back of the projector, and it's so dim, you can't see it if there are any other lights on.
