This is the second identical one of these projectors that I have purchased. The first one didn't last very long but we liked it when we could get it to work. It was then and still was my first choice among all the offerings but it has its difficulties in using it. The most notable for me was that I could never set it up on timer circuits with my Christmas lights without problems. Every time the timer turned off the lights cutting the power, the unit would revert to its default mode the next time it came on which was a very unpleasant mode for me. I'd have to go out each night with the remote to change the mode to the preferred setting. And if it bothered me, I'd have to do it again in the morning when the Christmas lights were turned on for a couple hours. It was very annoying and especially so when the weather was disagreeable and if the remote began to fail, I had to go up to the actual unit and press the manual button to change the mode. After purchasing this one as a replacement we decided not to use it at all but I found an alternative use for it that I'm actually quite happy with. I've set it up inside my house plugged into a normal wall receptable (no timer). Now I can easily turn on the pre-set mode with the remote since it doesn't turn the power off, only the unit. I've selected a pleasant pattern to light up the ceiling and far wall with stars and snowflackes and it is great fun. You want to set it up so it doesn't shine in anyone's eyes, it's projector bulb is very bright indoors but the patterns on the walls and ceiling provide a pleasant ambient light. For this purpose, alone, I'm willing to give it 5 stars and hope that it has a longer life-span than the first one. ... show more

We have a 2 story house with attached 2 car garage. We had no problems covering the front of our house entirely in snowflakes. We loved having options between all the different modes and speeds. The snowflakes were perfect size. In the past, we had projectors that projected large snowflakes and this new projector is perfect in size. The snowflakes are large enough to clearly see, but not so large that there are only 3-5 snowflakes across your whole house. This projector does more like 100 or more clear and detailed snowflakes. I would say they are white in color and there seems to be about 3 different variations of the snowflakes in the patterns, so they are uniform, but not too uniform. The remote is a handy tool, but you do have to have it angled just right. ... show more

Likes: The remote is easy to understand and use. The timer options and ability to slow down or speed up the projections is a nice feature. The installation with the provided stake was easy and it came with an optional bracket for mounting. I’m using it on a 2-car garage and size-wise it is very visible and projects beyond that. Dislikes: I wish the snowflakes did a figure 8 or something to make them seem a little more natural. They do a clockwise and counterclockwise half turn. However, people driving by will never notice. I haven’t had it long enough to rate durability. It seems well made. Overall, I’m happy and keeping it. Product functions as described and the different light shows are a very cool feature. Had difficulty with the remote from inside the house but a careful aim does the trick. I bought this specifically for the slow snowflake constant (simulating falling snow) but on the end of each rotation it clicked bounced and then ran the cycle again which made for an awful viewing. Video shows inside the house with the aforementioned “issue” Did not use timer. Helpful tip: If you attach this to automatic timers (third party), it will always start on the default setting. Exactly as described, easy to assemble the few parts, had two modes to use [ground spike and platform], and reasonably priced. Worked perfectly right out of the box. Very surprised how well the remote works from a decent distance away. I used it to turn on and off the projector from the living room to the middle of the front yard [probably 25 feet]. The timer function works well. My only recommendation is that the timer have a 12-14 hours setting instead of a max of 8 hrs. I guess I could always just leave it on too. I absolutely love this light! The brightness is perfect use for indoors for me. I bought it to use all year round in my room before sleeping, the remote works perfectly and is so convenient. I bought a Dancing Snowflake Projector Light and only used it for 2 Christmases. When I took it out this year, the remote didn't work correctly even when I installed new batteries, the cord is coming out of the back of the projector, and it's so dim, you can't see it if there are any other lights on. ... show more

I loved this when I first got it. Perfect for garage door and really cute snowflakes. Got it back out this year and it stopped working after about 1 week of use. Very disappointed in this product. Will be throwing it away.
