    • Brilliant but short lived
I purchased two of these and they make the exterior of my home look great. I used to string lights all over, but to be honest, at my age it just isn't easy and sometimes impossible. So I "graduated" to these and really liked them. They come with a remote control to set the color (red, green or red/green together). They also have buttons that will allow flashing or not and the speed at which the projections move. Also a timer for various hours on after activation. I have these on a separate timer and they come on in the desired pattern at night and do not have to be re-programmed after each use, which is great. The color is vivid and the red designs that animate independent of the green trees, snowflakes, Santa, reindeer and stars really make the display stand out. The cords and plugs are substantial and less likely to receive damage than most others I have seen. The plugs fit perfectly into a three way outside adapter and the indentations on the plugs allow them to insert snugly for a water resistant fit. These would have been perfect except: Update: 12/16 Within ten days of setting these up, one failed. The green laser quit working and only the red one that only makes dots works. Tried manual resetting, unplugging, and waiting 15 minutes, pressed the button on the unit rather than the remote and no green at all. Returned to Amazon. Disappointed that only half the house has a decoration...maybe we will end up totally dark if the second one quits too. Can't give this more than one star because short use failure of a seasonal item that is used for a short time is totally unacceptable. ... show more

    • Easy to set up and bright images.
Easy to set up. Images are sharp and bright. The various modes can be changed easily with the remote control. The projection spread is wide but the wider the images are spread out (that is, the further back you place the projector), the images will become dimmer; so you have to decide on your own comfort level. Overall the images are fun to look at and sure attract curious onlookers, if placed outdoors! ... show more

    • Plan on 2 for a full effect
Bought this to give sparkle to a pine tree in our yard. We had to stake in the ground. The angle definitely impacts the effect. This product could use an extension to raise the height of the light source when staking. I also noticed that the cycle does not permit sparkle with steady-on (my preferred). It always cycles through with a fade in and out of the cycle you choose. Also, red lighting is barely noticeable (if at all). I think a second unit will help, but if you have to spend double, then perhaps you will get the quality you want out of a more expensive unit. ... show more

This was nothing like my old machine. Small, cheaply made, barely covers your front steps, and has no controller to change display. Not worth it.

My husband purchased this with the intentions of setting it up outside our home to project on the house. Hasn't happened YET (it's been about a year now). He DOES set it up in the living room to drive the cats crazy LOL. This projector is sturdy. The laser lights are very bright (even with the household lights on). I don't know if there is a remote to this projector (like my title says, my husband ordered this). It's very easy to set up (if my husband did it, it was a cinche because I set up the cable boxes, stereo, DVD players, car stereos, etc) LOL. ... show more
