This is break cleaner for guns, seems to clean just about anything. Just be careful as it really cleans, it will take normal paint off like it's nothing. Also this is a strong aerosol blast just like break cleaner so you need to be careful when spraying. Keep away from stained furniture and carpet. Product works greeat like break parts or carb. cleaner. Yes, there is a white residue. I just used it on one of my items and I cleaned it off with a towel dampened with lightly soapy water. Great part to clean off internals between detail stripped cleaning sessions. I'll buy more.

This does exactly as intended. I cleaned my carrier bolt group, upper and lower receiver and all internal/external parts, basically every surface area powder residue would contaminate. I clean my guns after every use, so I don't have old buildup, but I could tell this product definitely works, as plenty of black residue came off. It did leave a hazy film after spray down, but it all easily wiped off. I would have given 5 stars, but I take issue with paying so much for something that is basically brake cleaner. There does not appear to be any difference in chemical formula. Otherwise, great product. There was no adverse reaction with Hoppes gun oil. Rather than spending $14, buy 4 or 5 cans of brake cleaner at Autozone for the equivalent price of one can of Lucas, the expensive price point isn't worth paying. ... show more
