I ordered this cord for my mother's laptop and it was exactly like the picture. I've only plugged it into my my laptop so far but it worked. It is the actual HP power adapter in its entirety and its less in cost and hassle than getting it from HP ($65 + S&H).

The adapter arrived fast and was well packaged. It appears to be exactly like the one HP provided me with when I purchased the laptop. It worked very well ... for 3 days, then it overheated and ceased to work. Perhaps this sort of failure is why HP discontinued this adapter. The seller did everything in an exemplary way. I bought this in may 2019, it is now Jan 2020 and it is over heating my computer. Worked fine until a couple of weeks ago, the computer gets so hot it shuts its self off.

This is NOT a genuine HP replacement, rather it is a 3rd party replacement. It may be OK, but the ad seems to indicate it is an OEM HP Replacement part, and it is not.
