  • Worked so well I have 2
Pattern Name: AIR49
Good coops. Easy to assemble. Not perfect but they work well. The bottom pull out for cleaning does not work well so I just shovel out from the big side door. Rain will leak into the bottom of the side door so I now have a piece of plywood leaning against the coops which works well. I also placed a piece of plywood over the top of the run so they have a covered area. I use furring strips to screw plastic to the sides of the run in winter (northern WI) which keeps them cozy. Buried hardware cloth around the sides to keep out predators. I made a larger run for daytime then lock the doors of the secure little run at night. Easily fits 10+ birds with a large feeder on the inside. I do not place a heater in the winter and they do just fine. 2+ years of use and it’s still holding up well. Not the greatest construction (thin walls) but works fine. It is nice to have 2 as I can separate birds if needed as I do when I introduce new baby chicks. ... show more

  • Good for the price. Will update as time goes on.
Pattern Name: AIR45
I don’t think it’s the manufacturers fault for the broken wood as it’s more FedEx fault. But figure I’d put it out here that it is incredibly soft wood. So I’d make reinforcements to the final coop before use. Extra support, maybe extra screws but not too many. I’d also make sure it’s weighted down so they wind won’t take it. I’m in a very windy area and I’m gonna secure it down with tposts. Anyway it’s easy to put together I did most of it by myself but 2 people is probably better. I’ll update as time goes on. But I will be making my own DIY upgrades to it. Thanks! I’d buy it if your handy and can get creative it’s a good base. I’m using it for a brooder/quail enclosure. I’d use it for bantams only personally. ... show more

  • Handy little coop
I got this for 4 chicks my hen hatched. The flock was pecking these babies so I got the little coop for them to be safe. The coop is inside my chicken run so the other chickens can get used to these babies being with them, but still keep the babies safe. It is actually too small for 4 chickens. The babies I put in it are now 11 weeks old and almost as big as the grown chickens. They are pretty cramped. I would recommend only have 2 chickens in this coop at the most. The tray has swelled from the humidity and is a bit hard to slide in and out for cleaning. It would have been nice if the lid on the nest box area had some kind of prop to hold it open for cleaning. Other than that it is a pretty nice coop, and for the price, I'd say worth the money. I would recommend it if you only have 2-3 chickens, but I'd put something substantial under it to protect from predators if it is all you'll have for your chickens. A preditor could dig under and get to the chickens. ... show more

  • Terrible quality. Poor design. Scam
Pattern Name: AIR67
We bought this coop with high hopes. When received it was easy to put together, but that is about all of the positives I can say about this product. The wheels tore out of the base upon the first slight bump encountered when moving it to its place in the yard. The laying boxes are wobbly, and I’m wondering if it will support the weight of chickens when they’re finally placed in the coop. The front door doesn’t close all of the way leaning to the right leaving a crack on the top left. The roof is tar and gravel… I doubt this will be weatherproof. The sliding tray to make cleanup easy has no guide rails underneath. So if not placed perfectly, it will just fall out leaving the inside of the coop exposed. When inserted all of the way it stays up because it rests on the caster plate of the wheels. This is by far the worst product that I’ve ever purchased from Amazon. I doubt it will last more than a few months. On top of that, a shipping charge of $80 dollars for a piece of junk doesn’t seem fair. I feel scammed… dooped… taken advantage of. It is a shame. ... show more

  • This coop is probably just fine
I bought this coop several months ago to save me time and money in building my own, and I'm not entirely sure that worked out for me. Here's what the coop does really well: - Price. I looked around a lot, and this is probably the best price for what it is. - Ease of setup. Anyone can do it. The instructions are easy to follow and it doesn't take a lot of time. - Looking good. I like the look of this coop. It's cute and reasonably well-made. Here are my main problems with this coop: - Ventilation. Two tiny holes is not enough. I had to cut my own ventilation holes and covered them with hardware cloth. - Maintenance. If you want to use the deep-litter method for a low-maintenance coop, don't buy this product unless you are ready and willing to do some significant customization. I did—it works well and wasn't difficult, but it took extra wood, hardware cloth, sealant, and time. - Door. The chicken door is honestly next to useless. It opens and closes only with great difficulty, and has to be operated from inside the run. If you buy this coop, plan on either leaving the door open all the time or installing a new one. - Roost bar. Ideally, the roost bar would be above the nest box, but that is not the case with this coop. As a result, I end up with a lot of chicken poop in the nest box because they are roosting there instead. Unfortunately there's not a great option to raise the roost bar without a bit more customization. I'm weighing the options for that right now. Summary: I needed something relatively cheap that I could customize. I used the covered run area for a duck house and attached both to a larger, walk-in run that I ordered from another seller, so I was never intending to use this product as it came to me. But I wish I hadn't had to make my own ventilation or create a deeper tray for using the deep litter method, and I really wish the door wasn't so poorly made. That being said, this is probably a good starter coop if you have two or three small-sized backyard hens. If you want more than that, this still might be a good option if you are willing to make a few customizations. I waited until now to write the review so that I could see it in use for a reasonable amount of time. It has held up well, but that is probably due in part to the high-quality paint that I covered it with. ... show more
