  • Good value coop
Pattern Name: Chicken Coop
Arrived undamaged and assembled easily with 2 people. The wood is not high quality and the paint was thin and spotty. I caulked up all seams and roof screws and repainted with oil based exterior paint to protect the wood and give a barn appearance. I also built a pressure treated 2x4 base for it to sit on and keep it off the ground. Added a rooster weather vane for looks. ... show more

  • Not the best quality but nice.
Pattern Name: Chicken coop AIR97
The wood is thin and soft. Is a great size for 9 to 10 chickens. It took several hours by myself to assemble it but with two persons could be done in one hour. I used roof sealant from one of the box stores to seal the roof joints and screw holes. Has kept my chicks dry and safe. The ramp did not close easily but I shimmed up a hinge and squared up the door. A strong man can pick it up and move it around but a small person might need two people to move it. Some items on the instructions were not exactly clear but it is not a hard build. Seems to be the best large size chicken tractor for the price. ... show more

  • Do. Not. Buy. Save your money & time
Pattern Name: Chicken coop AIR97
The media could not be loaded. This product is very poorly made with cheap materials. I would not purchase again. Assembly very easy but wood is soft and cheap causing screws to strip very easy. Nesting box screws already popped out. Junk. I’ll be lucky if it last through the winter. When I contacted the company they offered me $15 back for a $275 coop. ... show more

  • Just use the frame
Pattern Name: Chicken Coop
Comfortable fits our 5 hens. We took off one nesting box and pulled the drawer and latters out. We kept one roosting bar and put in a large branch for them to use to get to the bar. It’s a perfect structure- needs some reinforcing on the locks and flimsy windows. We also primed it so it would weather longer, it’s heavy! Worth the money though if you don’t wanna build one yourself from scratch. Ease to assemble and move with two people. ... show more

  • Great first coop
This is my first attempt at raising backyard chickens and I bought this as a starter coop assuming I would need to upgrade it pretty quickly if I decided I liked the chicken hobby. Everything I read online said any of these cheaper coops were basically crap and wouldn’t hold up but I’ve had this one for about a month now and really don’t see any reason to upgrade. I have 3 full size adult chickens in mine and could probably fit one more if I really needed to. We have a lot of wildlife in our yard and I haven’t had any issues with predators getting in or opening the locks. As happy as I am with the coop, there were some things I needed to modify. First, there are way too many nesting boxes for the number of chickens that can fit in this coop which lead to chickens wanting to sleep in the nesting boxes and lay where the roosting bars are. I blocked off 3 of the nesting boxes and now the chickens sleep on the roosting bars and lay in the nesting box. I’d read that 9 square feet was too small for 3 chickens but I live in a cold climate and it seems like the chickens want to roost near each other for warmth anyway so they’re not using most of the space. The second thing to be aware of with this coop is that the “run” is not big enough to leave the chickens in all day. They need to be let out in the morning and closed up and night. It’s still nice having the run so that there is a dry space to keep their food/water/dust bath but the size really only works if the chickens are let out during the day. I initially thought I could leave the chickens in the run most of the day and only let them out for a few hours but they’ll really need to let out in the morning to be happy. Once I realized this I got them an automatic battery powered door and installed it in the run area. I also blocked off a small area of yard using a temporary 4 foot dog fence so they have about 400 sqft to wander in. They can fly over the fence but I’ve found they’re weirdly respectful of the boundary anyway and it keeps them from digging up the rest of the yard. With these modifications though this is a super low maintenance setup that seems to work just fine for a small number of backyard chickens ... show more

  • Chickens love it!!
Pattern Name: Chicken Coop
I purchased this to temporarily house my first 5 chicken and it houses them perfectly. It is very simple and easy to put together it took two people probably about 2 hours to put together. It is very sturdy once put together. The wire is good value. It does take two people to pick it up and move it. The doors are easy to use and the locks are spring loaded which is nice. It is suck a cute little chicken home and it is made out of pretty good materials and I love that it has actul roofing material. I will be using this for our baby chicks once we get our run put together. ... show more

  • It reads better than it actually is.
Pattern Name: Automatic Chicken Coop Door
We ordered this product primarily for its weather resistance indicated, especially the door heater in winter conditions, for our chicken coop located in the mountains of TN where all forms of weather occur. PRO: It arrived quickly and perfectly wrapped with no damage. The instructions were easy to understand. The door when it did open, moved fast for the birds to get out ASAP. The keypad functioned easily and setting up the open/close times was simple. CONS: The opening was not big enough for our adult chickens making them have to squeeze through it. The solar panel had too short of a cord to mount properly. The solar and direct feed electricity feature never kept the door powered long enough to work. We had to keep it plugged in which defeated using this product without providing direct power to the coop and run. The heater never worked. The settings never remained in the memory making it impossible to leave the coop unmanned during the morning and evening when the birds were active. We had to also open the door manually and when it had no power we had to remove the door or open the man-gate to free the birds. We ended up replacing this with another brand. ... show more
