This heating panel arrived well-packaged, with simple setup instructions. I chose to attach it to the wall behind my parakeet cage to help them stay warm during winter months. I started out on the lowest setting, during the day, so I could check it frequently, then gradually worked up. We are now on continuous cycle, heat level 2. Note: The picture is deceiving! Read the dimensions: 12 x 16 inches, 30x40 cm. About the height and length of a healthy chicken. Observations: 1. The instructions are rudimentary, but understandable, in English, with a few diagrams. 2. The product includes 4 wall anchors and 4 tiny screws, but only 2 holes on the back of the panel, at the top corners. You must measure carefully, and not screw the little screws all the way into the anchors, then fit them into the slots by trial and error. Once it was finally on the wall, I plugged it in and it works fine. 3. Set also includes feet that can be screwed into the bottom if you wish to stand it up at floor level. Feet are constructed of solid plastic. I did not test them, but seem sturdy enough. Feet are only about 6 inches in length, so if a chicken bumps them very hard the panel may fall over. It appears that heat turns off when it falls, but I only looked at the lighted display, did not leave it that way too long. 4. It also includes a wire cable with 2 attachment points on panel that would hang at a single point, but this would be the most unsteady installment. 5. The power cord is covered with good plastic reinforcement; I think it would resist most friction, pecking or chewing. 6. Since the wall is white, and this panel is black, my 6 parakeets were of course terrified of it at first, but after 5 days they have completely accepted it. 7. The wall does not get hot behind the panel, only barely warm. 8. The front surface is distinctly warm/hot. Care should be taken with young or very old animals or birds, which could potentially be burned if they stay against it too long. 9. On continuous setting the heat cycles on and off automatically to maintain a constant temperature. Thermostat seems good so far. I cover front and sides of my bird cage at night, with panel at the back. The first 3 nights I checked a few times to see if it did not get too hot inside covered cage, but the heater automatically cycled off. 10. Heater seems completely silent, and, most importantly, it works as desired! My birds are warmer. It is still fall here; as temps get colder I may supplement with the hanging covered bird heater that I have used previously. It was never enough on its own, but this heater provides much more uniform, continuous temperature control. Conclusion: I am highly pleased with this product and would purchase again for my parakeets. Very skeptical about it heating a chicken coop, unless it is a tiny coop for 1-3 chickens.

At this price point, I was afraid this might be a cheap throwaway item, but it is actually very functional. The overall quality is good... solidly made. Very little assembly is required... you basically just decide if you want to hang it with the enclosed wire system or use the included feet to stand it up. The included instructions are decent. Operation is simple... turn it on... set your power level... and select from four preset timer lengths or continuous operation. It does have a fuse if it were to overheat. The product page states it meets UL standards... not sure if that means UL certified. Fairly priced product.

Vine reviewer: This heater has numerous advantages. Surprisingly, it's quite aesthetically pleasing for a chicken coop heater, which is an unexpected but welcome feature. Although it may not be a top priority for most poultry enthusiasts, the design's appeal does not go unnoticed. Additionally, it warms up rapidly; when I tested it, the temperature reached 258 degrees within just a couple of minutes. I didn't leave it on for long, as there's no immediate need for it, fortunately. Its lightweight and balanced design, combined with its slim pleasing profile, make it easy to hang, especially if the coop ceiling is high enough to allow for suspension a few inches off the ground adjacent or near the roost area. Alternatively, it comes with small legs for placement on the ground or another flat surface. It provides a clean, pleasant heat, making it an excellent choice for anyone passionate about raising chickens. I would also suggest another application. While I no longer have them, I used to keep parrots. Living where it gets cold, one needs to guard against any potential drafts or anything like that. I would have absolutely loved to have had access to a heater like this that I would have hung just outside the cage, but just beyond the reach of the ever-gnawing beaks of the parrots. It would provide that beautiful heat precisely where it is most needed. So that would be an excellent alternative use that would be beautifully met by this attractive slim unit. In summary: This chicken coop heater has a number of great features! Here are some of my key bullet points: Aesthetic Appeal: It’s surprisingly attractive for a chicken coop heater, which is a nice bonus. Rapid Heating: It heats up quickly, reaching 258 degrees within minutes. Lightweight and Balanced Design: Easy to hang or place on the ground with its small legs. Clean, Pleasant Heat: Provides a cozy comfortable warmth for chickens. Versatile Use: Could also be used for other pets like parrots, providing targeted heat as long as it is kept beyond the reach of their beaks. These features make it a versatile and efficient option for keeping your chickens (or other pets) warm during colder months. I give this coop-heating unit my highest recommendation! You will not go wrong in choosing this unit.

This panel heats up very well, produces high heat. Was very easy to install on my coop wall. The chickens usually don’t leave the wall where the panels are so I know they approve. Great for the cooler days ahead. I love these!

You just take this heating panel out of the box, plug it in, turn on the switch and adjust the temperature as needed. I like that it can stand up or hang on the wall. I like that it has a temperature control to adjust the temperature.
