We own Jumbo Coturnix Quail. I have tried a variety of feeders, both store bought and handmade and these by far are the best. Limits their ability to waste food. I also use in broader box after 2 weeks.

Well built as expected from Rent-A-Coop products. However, feed holes are too small for standard chickens. They would not even look at them until I made them all larger. In the pics you can see the hole is quite small when looking into it as a chicken would. I cut out the outlined portion on each cup which solved the problem. Very little feed is knocked out even with the hole being bigger now and the girls all love them. Would love it if they offered this 10lb size feeder with the option to have a more normal sized hole and without the built in covers so that wouldn’t be needed. But it works now so they are all happy. It’s also been through some serious rain lately and has held up and been completely rain proof too. Very happy with it overall, even bought a second one.

Bought this for my chicks. Now they are hens and roosters. Love it!!!! Great product. Have tried other feeders. The quality was chinsy at best. This feeder is great!! It doesn’t come with covers so I bring my feeder in each night- we have all sorts of predators on my property so to avoid any temptation of a predator getting into my chicken coop hurt bcz of the chicken feed, I erase that temptation by bringing my little feeder each night.

This feeder is very sturdy and solid. It worked wonderfully when my hens were young; under 4 months old. As they have grown, they struggle to get into the little compartments and they are not eating enough. I need to replace the feeder now. It's unfortunate. I will say that the feeder does help eliminate a mess, but mainly because the girls can't get into it enough to make a mess.

This feeder wins!! I had a different feeder and so much feed was getting wasted on the ground. Not with this one! Plus I can fill it with a weeks worth of food and its sealed and my ladies can eat anytime they want. So glad a fellow chicken mom recommended this product to me! I recommend it to everyone now!

I have 10 pullets. I like this because I don’t have to refill as often as my first feeder. It has the head sized holes so they don’t get their feet in their and scratch it all out. Cons: once it’s about half way empty, the food stops falling nicely to the feeding port and staying in a mound in the middle of the bucket. Not meant for smaller chicks - they can get stuck in the feeding port.
