I purchased this unit after trying & returning the WALLAIR model (also from Chicago Pneumatic). The results are night & day. You can see my review of the WALLAIR here on Amazon. However, to save you the time & disappointment, just know that it sucks. Cool looking, but absolutely no air pressure. While this unit isn't wall mounted & doesn't have the the onboard hose, you trade it for a 1.6 gallon storage tank. That's a tank with a drain valve! And having this tank makes all of the difference. The WALLAIR unit could not produce (& more importantly maintain) any decent air pressure. Despite claiming to have a 1.5 HP motor. This unit has the same size motor, has roughly the same size footprint, but has the storage tank. And it's cheaper! It's still small enough to sit on the corner of my bench. With the savings from returning the WALLAIR, I put that towards a 50' retractable 3/8" hose reel. The entire package looks & works perfectly for what I need it for (general cleaning, tire fills & car detailing). I'm not running this unit long term or driving any air tools. So I can't speak to that use. However, as a general purpose portable compressor, this thing fits that bill. One thing to note, it is loud. So, just be warned. It's not any louder than my old compressor. So not an issue, but if this is your first air compressor, then you may want to consider placing on the ground instead of up high. ... show more

The only small compressor I've seen with a drain valve which is an important feature. The quick coupler operation thru me for a while. Normally you pull the sleeve back and insert the nipple but this one you just stick it in and it locks.

We purchased this mostly for filling the car tires. For the price it works great, keeps the pressure. The 1.6 gallon tank is perfect for our needs but it is loud.

    • It keeps turning off it self I have to reset by hand every time
I don't think is fare is a pain in the rear to return it you guys make it this way so people get frustrated and won't want to go through the B's to send it back
