Description

Why do freezers need to sit for a while when you first get them home? The resting period is to let the internal lubricant flowing to the compressor and refrigeration system due to bumps and vibrations during transport flow back to the compressor base to ensure that the compressor can operate normally when starting. How long do I need to let a freezer I just bought home sit before I can power it up and use it? Normally, only 4 hours of standing time is required to ensure that the lubricant has enough time to return. The settling time is also related to the ambient temperature. If the ambient temperature is high, the oil may return to the compressor faster.
