Ok I do not give out a 5 star rating very often. This is a solid product! Well constructed. Easy to assemble and it cooks well. I am excited to use this on other things like pork roasts, tenderloins and ribs. I even want to try vegetables and Kabobs just to see how it comes out! I highly recommend this product. No leaks accessories are solidly built as well (mesh lid, basket, and hook) I have cooked two turkeys in this now and I can say that the second came out better than the first! (learned easily from the first) This will NOT cook as fast as an oil fryer!! (3.5 hours as compared to 45 minuets) but you could never tell by the end product. As a plus you will be able to add additional flavors to the meats as they cook. So marinades, rubs, spices will stay in place. Please use some caution as the basket will be extremely hot (purchase some heat proof grill gloves) as added protection. Warm up and cool down is super fast! (about 5 to 10 minuets) and clean up is a wee bit tricky because the cooking basket is round. (Won't fit in my dishwasher so you will have to clean by hand and you will need to scrub is a bit to get some stuck on crispy bits off. But, not a huge deal.) If you fry your bird get this. You will be happy with the product and money saving value as well as the versatility to cook other things.

To be honest......I was skeptical at first. I never found anything air fried as good as frying in oil. And boy was I wrong. We were looking for an alternative to the Butterball XL due to the cost of oil. My wife, a retired Registered Dietician, will never use oil more than once. Not once in the 50+ years I have known her. So, we do not fry all that often, but whatever we fry requires new oil. We started out many years ago with one of those outdoor pot fryers. Then we advanced to the indoor Butterball XL fryer. Much better than the mess with an open outdoor fryer. Back then you could actually get one for around 50 dollars on sale. Eventually we stopped using peanut oil and started using canola. Never really noticed the difference. Even with canola, as cheap as we can buy it, the cost was just south of 25 dollars to fill the Butterball. I noticed Amazon had this Big Easy for a low price....I always check the three Camels to be sure........and I read some good reviews so we gave it a try. We followed the set up directions, rubbed oil and spices on a 6.5 pound hen, gave it a couple of hours in the fridge to dry out, and stuck it in the fryer with a Weber BT thermometer. At about 140 degrees I put on the top rack/crisper. I probably did not need to place it on so early because it blackened the fingers and toes. In around 2 hours, as prescribed, the Weber went off at 165 degrees. So we ate the bird and I can honestly say this was the best whole chicken we have ever cooked. Like in 50 years we ever cooked. The meat was unbelievable juicy. Skin was crisp. Just perfect. Apparently this fryer, from other reviews I have read, is gentile on the propane as well. We usually cook 2-3 turkeys over the Holidays. And 16 pounds or less is fine. So this year alone we will save 50-75 dollars on oil along with the waste that used oil produces. And, over the years, we have had pretty good luck with Char-Broil products.

This is the easiest to use turkey cooker we’ve ever had. We were skeptical, since no lid is needed, that the turkey would cook evenly and thoroughly but we were pleasantly surprised and impressed!! We followed the instructions to “season” the cooker before we cooked our bird and it performed perfectly. Clean up was easy since you just burn it off and dump out the ashes. Also the aluminum drip pan liner makes cleaning that part easy, I just wiped the grease out then washed the pan to reuse but you can also just throw it away. The ignitor worked the first time each time we fired it up. So far it’s been durable. I would definitely keep it away from walls and watch children and pets around it since it gets hot and a lid is not necessary. This information is in the manual and grilling recommendations that are included. Overall we feel it’s an excellent product performance wise and a good value for your money.

Made my first turkey in it over Thanksgiving loved it the turkey turned out so moist you couldn't tell at all the white meat was just juicy everybody complimented how good the turkey tasted you do have to leave the brown the part on the top of it to get it Browner the Chris make it crispy longer than I did though

A little over a week ago we ordered the Char-Broil Big Easy Oil-less Liquid Propane Turkey Fryer upon recommendation of a friend. The first one came in a few days ago. We tested it using chicken. The chicken weighed only 4 pounds and it didn't seem to be cooking at all. It was heating, but not enough to do the job. After nearly 5 hours, It was still at around 100° F so we removed it and put it in the oven to finish. We were disappointed to say the least, but we trusted the friend that recommended it and there were so many positive reviews here and on YouTube that we figured it was just a freak occurrence. The very next day, we ordered a replacement. Amazon's customer service handled it very well. We order often and this is the first time we've had an issue, so we were concerned about whether it would be an easy process or not. Billie, whoever you are, you get an A+. You made the replacement and return process a pleasant one. The replacement arrived today. We immediately unpackaged it, assembled it, and put it to the test. In case you were wondering, assembly is easy. We used a 6.5-pound chicken today and it was ready in almost exactly 65 minutes. Which is right in line with the claim of 10 minutes per pound cooking time. Here's a photo of the chicken. Can't wait to put the turkey in it next week. So even though the first one didn't work well, Amazon handled it and now we have one that is working perfectly. Couldn't give it a 5. Gave it a 4, but it's a solid 4.5 and if the option were available that's what I would rate it. I'll update you if anything happens to change my opinion over Thanksgiving.

I bought this for one sole purpose, to deep fried turkey at Thanksgiving. I hated the electric, oil deep fryer by Butterball ever since they came out with the new model. A slight touch to the electrical cord, the connector on the Butterball deep fryer would come off. I tossed that Butterball deep fryer and looked for another fryer. When I saw this oil less fryer and read the reviews on it, I bought it and used it last Thanksgiving. It was very easy to assemble and use. Hooked it up to a propane tank, turned it on and it's good to go. One thing that I noticed though is that the cooking time took considerably longer than what I expected or heard from other people. For a 14 lbs turkey, I think it took me something like 5 hours to deep fried and have internal temp reaching 185. Now that I know roughly how long it took to fully cooked a 14 lbs turkey, I can compensate for the time accordingly next time. The bright side is that the turkey came out superb. The skin was crispy, and the meat was juicy. Best part is that I don't have to spend the money on peanut oil to deep fried. Because there's no oil, it's healthier to deep fry in it. The basket that came with it can be a bit difficult to take the turkey out after cooking. I bought a collapsible basket that made it a bit easier to put the turkey in and remove after cooking, but I'm not wholly convinced if it was worth it. Neither basket is all that easy to clean by hand. I put them in the dish washer when I cleaned them, but I still scrubbed them down with a brillo pad first to remove as much of the stick on food.

I tried to cook a turkey for our neighborhood supper. I cooked it for 4 hours and it looked great, until I took it up. The top half was done but the bottom half was still raw. Luckily I had smoked another one so the people had something to eat. I followed the instructions and watched several YouTube videos to see if I had done anything wrong. Nope, did just like everyone else but got different results. Maybe I received a bad one. First Charbroil product I have had trouble with. Well today I decided to give it another try and use beef so we could eat if it was still rare. Same results. I put a roast in the top and one on the bottom. After cooking the bottom one was still raw and the top one looked beautiful but it didn't do so well either. I must have got a faulty one and hope Charbroil will come to my rescue. The new one was great. During assembly of the new one, I noticed the pot came out unlike the other one which was below the rim and would not . When putting the pot back in the cooker it hung on the rim and I decided that must be the way it was supposed to go unlike the other one which was under the rim. The instructions were not clear on how the pot should install so I assumed it was installed correctly by the manufacturer since it would require removing the top rim of the cooker. I feel confident the other cooker would be fine with the pot hanging in the correct position.
