After burning through 2 Traeger tabletop grills (used a couple weeks a year camping), I figured I would give the Pit Boss a shot. After all they are a bit less spendy. I read the reviews and looked at the negatives which I found a bit whiny. I mean come on, complaining about the sticker on the lid? Good grief, take it off before using the grill is common sense. Others obviously had never used a pellet grill before and complaints were inexperience related. The positives were encouraging. So, I bought one. Assembly - Followed the instructions. Easy and all parts and hardware were included. First Fire-up - Flawless start-up (again follow the instructions). Cooked off all the stuff from manufacturing. Cooking - Very good. Again, flawless start-up, cooked exactly as intended, results were excellent. Held temperature well. Better than the Traeger. Cleanup - Very clean burning, hardly any ash. Use good pellets. Longevity - We will see, but so far, I am impressed with the build quality. If you are looking for a small grill, this one is great. This is our take along for the RV. And it is perfect for our needs. Our large grill is a RecTeq, which we love. They are pricier and have more features, but that is expected for the price you pay for them. ... show more

So far, my husband is very satisfied this wood pellet grill. It started right up with the auger starting up immediately which brought the pellets down and then I could light the fire. It's all fired up and ready to smoke chicken thighs.

57 yrs young and this is my first go with a smoker. We followed the start up directions/ prime and burn off and smoked our first ever Tomahawk steak. Absolutely Amazing, can’t believe I didnt do this long ago, from now on were smoking everything! Im a big jerky guy on a dehydrator, and my jerkey on this smoker was freaking bomb. Get your self a top or bottom eye of the round, slice 1/8 thick or so slices make a marinade and enjoy the best jerky youve ever had… I absolutely love my pit boss! ... show more

Easy set up, clear instructions. did come with a small dent on the lid but minor and not worth persuing a replacement. I have used only once and is a nice little smoker. May or may nit use the grill portion as I do have a small Blackstone griddle. Not capable of doing large amounts of food, I did 8 pieces of smoked sausage and they fit nicely. Hopeful it will hold a decent size brisket. I will remove the little riser, doesn't really seem like its needed at all. ... show more

    • Portable pellet grill that satisfies my grilling needs

I got this for myself for Father's Day, especially since I'm in a townhome where I cannot use a propane grill within 10 feet of the property fence. This thing works flawlessly. I've used it 2x a week for the past 2 months, from burgers, ribs, grilled veggies, sausages, chicken wings, and more. it's really easy to use and I was surprised by how little power it uses. I purchased a budget wet/dry vac so I could clean it up regularly (the inside where all the ash and oil go). The HOA security came by and said someone called it in and he just wanted to make sure it was electric. I showed him the switches and plug and he was convinced so I'm good to go. Technically it's electric... and has live fire but they don't need to know that. Keep in mind you can open/close the vent for direct flame (be careful with oil droppings) or classic pellet grill smoking and cooking. I love this thing. ... show more

Bought this smoker for my husband as a gift. Worked great for 2 months. Now when you turn it on, it reads an error code and won’t start. He has tried everything to get it to work and still nothing. I was very happy I bought the warranty for it. The warranty ended up being a joke! The person I was working with told me I would receive a reimbursement for what it cost in 24-72 hour so I could replace it. Once it was replaced I was able to send back the broken one. Well, no refund and stuck with a broken smoker. This product is a waste of money and I will never buy a pit boss again!!! ... show more
