Good tank with a real fuel gauge that actually works properly. Most tanks have a gauge that measures pressure but on hot days those gauge's give an incorrect reading. This tank has a float in the tank that measures the fuel remaining correctly.

    • A good tank. There was minor shipping damage - a slight bend on the valve shroud.

This is my 2nd gas grill propane tank with a gage. The other is 6yrs old and still refillable. The older tank this replaced would need another recertification and that is not done locally here in SE TX. Therefore, a new tank was needed. Fortunately, I wasn't charged to do a purge like was required in WA and Cal, when we lived there. Just another way to make money!     • Solution for hyperactive leak shutoff
Pattern Name: Tank Cylinder
Pros: fill gauge, well built. Of course it's empty. Can't be shipped full, duh. It's pre-purged saving time and money at first filling. Cons: for me, leak detector shutoff was hyper sensitive. Every time I opened tank valve it triggered. Solution: hook up all lines with stove turned off. Open valve only 1/4 turn. Wait 20 seconds. Hold stove valve open and listen for gas hiss. Light stove. Open tank valve fully. If no hiss heard, it's triggered. To reset: Turn tank valve off. Disconnect hose at tank, reconnect. Do original steps above. ... show more

    • The top valvue guard came bent

The top valve guard came bent. It was bent inward like it had been dropped. The shipping box was fine. So it seems to have occurred before packing. I didn't want to bother returning it for another one. Plus I needed the tank now for a BBQ. I was a bit concerned the gas station attendant would not fill it with a bent guard, but everything was fine. The tank and valve was perfectly fine. The fill gauge worked too. I'm still trying to figure out how the fill gauge works because it seems like inexpensive plastic attached to the valve but the gas doesn't seem to run through it. So somehow sensing tank is now full and in the green. Interesting design. ... show more

I have 2 grills and a "flamethrower" that use propane tanks. It's such a bummer running out of gas half way through something....despite picking up the tank to estimate if it's running low before use. It's the worst when this happens grilling.
