Good tank with a real fuel gauge that actually works properly. Most tanks have a gauge that measures pressure but on hot days those gauge's give an incorrect reading. This tank has a float in the tank that measures the fuel remaining correctly.

This is my 2nd gas grill propane tank with a gage. The other is 6yrs old and still refillable. The older tank this replaced would need another recertification and that is not done locally here in SE TX. Therefore, a new tank was needed. Fortunately, I wasn't charged to do a purge like was required in WA and Cal, when we lived there. Just another way to make money! The only issues I have with the tank is that it seems to not be totally purged. That issue seems to have worked itself out with repeated fills. You may want to have your propane vendor make sure it's purged before use. The other problem is more vexing: my tanks are in a compartment on the side of my rig. That means only one of them has the gauge facing forward. The other gauge can't be moved, so faces the back of the compartment. I glued a mirror onto the back wall so I can read it. Pros: fill gauge, well built. Of course it's empty. Can't be shipped full, duh. It's pre-purged saving time and money at first filling. Cons: for me, leak detector shutoff was hyper sensitive. Every time I opened tank valve it triggered. Solution: hook up all lines with stove turned off. Open valve only 1/4 turn. Wait 20 seconds. Hold stove valve open and listen for gas hiss. Light stove. Open tank valve fully. If no hiss heard, it's triggered. To reset: Turn tank valve off. Disconnect hose at tank, reconnect. Do original steps above. ... show more

The one ordered from amazon came with the gauge and was the same price as big box store. The tank is easy to install and the description is accurate. I have 2 grills and a "flamethrower" that use propane tanks. It's such a bummer running out of gas half way through something....despite picking up the tank to estimate if it's running low before use. It's the worst when this happens grilling.
