Our 8740A hand shaker spreader is designed to go in areas where a standard spreader can’t go. It easy to operate with one hand, with or without gloves. Decent Shaker Spreader. Not sure if I am using too much or not but provides nice even coverage non the less. Works great for me (spreading clover seeds) which were entirely too small for our push lawn feeder. Overall, Worth it. (Personal thoughts, I wouldn't use for Ice Salt as I find it more efficient and cost effective to just side arm handfuls of it across the driveway.) ... show more

Simple easy thing to spread seeds fertilizer ant killer etc. Bit pricey for what it is though. The quality is good it's a couple notches above cheapo but as is this should be $5.

I bought this specifically to precisely apply mold/fungus granular treatment for a couple of problem spots in my lawn. Very good capacity and it was much easier using the multi-hole lid exactly where I wanted the granules, as well as the correct amount.

I want to love this product, but there are a few things that I would change about it: First, unlike what I thought when buying it, you cannot just use it as a scoop to get salt out of the bag - no - you have to unscrew the enitre top part, which is a little messy once it's covered in salt, and then get the new salt from the bag, then screw the thing back together. Okay, that's not horrible. Then, you can dial the spreading hole size you want, but when you go to sprinkle it, salt does not spread as easily as you might think, and it clumps in the container between uses. And, if you want to sprinkle it far and wide, it's a bit heavy when filled. Other than that, it is certainly better than spreding salt by hand, or with a scoop. ... show more
