These small barn type lights are wonderful. They come packaged up with everything you need typ install them except the spot to hang them from. These particular lights are a black metal with a lovely sheen. They arrived packaged in form fitting styrofoam to protect them until we removed them for installation. The required wires, as well as several wire caps, were tucked inside the fixture behind the mounting plate. Installing these fixtures was actually pretty simple. After making sure the power was off to the existing porch lights, we removed those and used the wiring from the wall to connect these new ones. The most significant issue for us was making sure we connected the correct wires together. Since these lights are smaller than standard barn lights, they are just the right size for our porch. I'm so glad to have ordered these lights, as I believe they add value to our home, at least in attractiveness, if not monetarily. ... show more

These are going on an upstairs balcony where style really isn't important. They are as advertised, a simple and functional porch light. One of them had a slight defect in the finish on the top knob, but that won't be visible when installed, but is the only reason I didn't give them 5 stars. These little sconce-like fixtures are going on either side of the garage door on our brand new ADU and I'm so pleased with them. They are good looking - simple black color, and the size is perfect - not too big, not too small. A smaller bulb is going to sit in there without protruding from the bottom, which should keep more light on the ground and less going up or side to side. We're adding these on a daylight trigger with a secondary motion controlled camera backup, so they are really important to the security of our alley-facing garage. I didn't rate the ease of install, but the back plates and connections are standard, and since they are going on new construction, it's going to be easy to get them up once the siding is finished. I have some for my indoor hallway on dimmer switches and one on the back patio and on the side entrance.
