Spray nozzle was incorrectly attached to the shield. Spray winds up on the side of the shield instead of the middle of the shield.

    • It’s pesticide-errific!
Spray shield works great. It helps you spray up close to desirable plants without having to be concerned about drift. 4 stars because it took me a trip to town to get the right part to make it fit on my hand sprayer.

I could easily give this a 1 star. I concur with everyone else's low rating on the design of this shield. This is a total design failure. It is almost like the manufacturer has never used this product, because if they did, they would see what everyone is saying about the spray angle of this shield once it is attached to a spray wand. You cannot attach this to a spray wand and use it where the shield is flat or parallel to the ground due to the angle of the attachment point. The shield needs to come with an angle attachment that places the shield parallel to the ground when using. ... show more

It works as it should, but if you pressurize the sprayer too much it make a mist when it hits the ground and still lets a little get past the shield. That is just user error though.

This Chapin part which claims it fits "most chapin sprayers" but it does not fit one of the more popular chapin sprayers the 21210XP. HOWEVER a $5 Walmart generic spray shield fits perfectly

    • Odd angle
I had hoped this nozzle and shield would help keep overspray off a hedge along my lawn edge but the angle of the shield is such that the wand would need to be held parallel and about 8 inches from the ground. I suppose if I sprayed weeds while knee walking it might prove effective but with no adjustability to the angle of the cone, which is roughly 90 degrees to the wand, it’s a complete bust. ... show more
