Our back door is original to our 1950 minimal traditional house and has several window panes down the length. While the natural light and view of our garden is beautiful, we thought it would be nice to cover it sometimes. During the late afternoon when the sun really beats on it in summer, privacy at night during the winter when there's no foliage between us and our backdoor neighbor, keeping one of our more excitable dogs from losing her mind every time she sees a bird out there. You know. The previous owners already scarred the door from their shoddy "handiwork" doing something similar, and so an important thing for me was the ability to install a shade without drilling more holes. Something that covers up the shotgun blast of failed mounting holes of years past is a plus! This shade checks those boxes, PLUS the blackout options really black things out. We got the light brown option and installed it using the 3M double-sided tape. I cleaned the surface real well before applying, and I don't think it's going anywhere. It's low-profile, no cheap cladding that doesn't do much more than stick out and look out of place. Very low-key, actually looks like it belongs where it is. We've had it installed for four days and the sun room is consistently and markedly cooler in the afternoon with it and the window shades drawn. I was doubtful that a shade of this sort could actually meaningfully block out light due to bleed around the edges, but I guess I was wrong. If you used these on all windows in a room, you'd be in a cave, for sure! One bonus that I hadn't taken into account when I went looking is that this shade is hefty, but not unwieldy. This means that not only does it stay completely put in its position without any stretch, but I can open and close the door it's on without the bottom clattering around and making a racket. Even the times I've been a bit careless and closed it roughly, the shade only just sort of swayed back and forth. It tapped the door a couple of times, but it was soft enough that the paint wasn't scarred and barely made any sound. Great purchase, and with the wide array of available sizes, I'm sure we'll be back! Recommended 100000%

I have a 15 pane aluminum exterior living room door that I've tried three different solutions to cover up. I've done the magnetic curtain rods and various types of curtains the supposedly pull up and down easily and they were all an irritating pain. I also like zero light pollution when I sleep. This shade is perfect. Five stars across the board. Blocks light completely. Raises up and down smoothe and easy with NO hassle. Plus the adhesive is stronger than any other bracket in my apartment. I raise this up and down multiple times a day with no issues at all.. I am simply a consumer who like many of you hopes to purchase something that does exactly what it claims to do and this shade does that. Actually, to be honest, I was so surprised when it exceeded my needs and expectations I had to share with a review. This is my own experience and no one paid me to say anything..of course if they WANT to pay me they can...lol BUY THIS IT WORKS!!

I have been looking for shades to put behind my kids' bedroom shutters forever. The only thing that would fit the 1" depth on the inside of the window frame behind the shutters is the stick-on temporary blinds. The corded temp blinds worked great for awhile but they don't make them anymore for child safety reasons. As we replaced the corded ones due to wear and tear, we can only find ones that you clip the blind up. With 72" window height, it's such a hassle to fold up the temporary blind daily, so my kids' room are like the bat cave all the time, we get too lazy to open the blackout blinds. I am sooo glad we found these blinds. Installation is pretty easy (according to my handyman)! This is the biggest size blind they have (55 x 72) so I don't want to chance it with the 3M tape. We installed it with the brackets (which were plastic and we were skeptical whether they would hold up the blind but worked! We told the kids to be gentle when pulling the blinds down) and Ta Da! It's a 1000% better than the old temp blinds. It darkens the room and easy to open and close! More importantly, it fits the tight space I have behind the shutters! I can't be happier!

Blinds are well made and look great. Due to the type of window it required an inside frame install and the idea of using tape was appealing. We used the supplied tape for 52” wide blinds and they fell down after a week. Purchased 3M VHB tape and reinstalled. I highly recommend using the more expensive tape first time around. We like the look and functionality so much we bought 2 more.

After the adhesive mounting strips (predictably) failed to keep the shades affixed after less than an hour, I used the more conventional brackets. Having done this dozens of times, I didn’t anticipate any issues. I was wrong. Unlike the metal clips that have been included on every other shade/blinds, these had cheap plastic ones. I installed them and the shade rails clicked in place as expected. An hour later I found them on the floor again. The flimsy clips can’t support the shades, but at least the manufacturer probably saved several pennies on each $50+ unit. Avoid this product!!!

I needed a shade for the metal door in our garage. This Changshade shade had the option for tools-free installation, which was great because I didn't want to drill into my metal door. Since there is lip on the window frame, I first installed double-sided tape right above the window frame to shim it out a little bit and then I installed the 3M adhesive that came with the blind on the blind's metal header and then pressed it over the double-sided adhesive installed on the door. The blind feels very securely in place. The shades glide up and down very smoothly with minimal effort. The quality is excellent.
