  • LIKE SPACEBALLS= SUCK,SUCK,SUCK!!
Style: 2" Semi Trash + 196cc Engine + 0.9 Gal
So here is the low down on this pump. It works. The people on here who complain about the product don't understand how to use it and that is the bottom line. I am currently using this awesome pump for removing muck from my lake front home. I was advised not to buy it from a few people who have done that type of work. Against that advise, I took the plunge! I am glad I did! I debated on the 2 inch or the 3 inch. I settled for the 2 inch. I bought the recommended strainer from amazon and I also bought an extra 50 foot discharge hose from Apache and a 25 foot suction hose. Fast shipping. It was there sooner than amazon predicted. I filled the intake/suction hose with my garden hose while blocking the outlet/discharge hose until intial start up. ( I used a cement block on the hose). Just before starting it, I removed the cement block. The cement block was for preventing water from my inlet hose to leak out. This is where I think people have a problem. They don't understand how to prime a pump. Plain and simple. Even though This pump has a flapper to hold the prime, it still will leak by. 10 to 15 pulls nothing! What is going on? I decided to read the owners manual. Me the master mechanic. Guess what? Even masters learn something everyday. I did not have the fuel turned on! So with switch now on, I pulled the cord and instant startup! This thing is legit. Quiet. Fuel efficient. And within 10 seconds sucking water like crazy. And it sucks out everything! My strainer got clogged instantly. I cleaned it by hand and proceeded to vacuum out my muck. It was doing great for an hour. Then I removed the strainer in hopes of moving more stuff, and I accidentally grabbed a rock from the bottom approx. 9/16 round and about an inch and a half long. The pump made a banging noise and began to slow down on the suction, but it was still sucking!. I turned off the unit in a panic because I just bought this thing. I am a master mechanic and I do validation work, so I decided to diagnose what happened. I removed the intake hose only because it is stiff and ackward to deal with. Then I removed the pump housing cover. Very simple 4 bolts with washers. There is an o-ring that seals that, to the pump body. Inside the pump housing it is a very simple design. The impeller is attached to the engine's output shaft or crankshaft if you will. On the pump housing cover side I removed, there is an impeller cover or a water distribution plate with an o-ring on the centering sleeve. The impeller cover sits stationary in the pump cover housing on a small spline/tooth. Simple. So what happened is because I removed the strainer off the intake hose, it sucked in a rock and in slammed the impeller cover. The cover is cast steel and the housing is aluminum. It broke the impeller cover. Bummer. The amazing thing is, there was no damage to the impeller or the housing! So cast is a little tricky to weld. Using the SMAW process, I welded it up. Good as new. Of course before I welded it up, I wanted to try the broken part in there to see what would happen. It was still sucking, just not much. Unbelievable! I put the welded part on and reassembled everything and BAM! Working like a champ. 4 hours straight no issues. So my plan is every night to hit that lake hard for 2 hours a night until it is all cleaned up. In the 4 hours I cleaned up a 10 x 20 section near my dock. I have 80 feet of frontage. Clean sand with little pebbles. A must buy. Pros: affordable, fuel efficient, Fast shipping, easy to repair, user friendly and semi-self priming. Comes with all the accessories to get started. You don't have to buy extra hoses if you don't want them. Personal preference. Cons: cast parts in an aluminum housing/longevity TBD. Makes you have to work because it is so awesome! Haha Handle for transporting vibrates off. Bad design. It is very important to read the instructions to the fullest. There is some minor assembly required. Wheels, legs and handle. Like I previously stated I am a master ASE certified mechanic. I did not read the instructions because I have" I know everything syndrome ", which cost me a half hour of figuring out why it would not start. I am an idiot I know. It has a fuel shutoff valve! Duh. So very important to take a minute and know your machine. I sat down and read everything I could. Heck I am getting a free t shirt for writing a review on their website! ( not for amazon they don't cut me any deals. That is a whole other story). So don't shy away. This is an awesome piece of equipment. You won't be disappointed. Sorry I took video but it is to large to attach. I am posting it to you tube under Removing lake muck. It is very generic just showing the muck being dispersed from the pump. I have a photo of some of the junk it picks up though in a bucket. ... show more

  • Excellent pump
Style: 2" Semi Trash + 196cc Engine + 0.9 Gal
This pump is worth the money. I was very worried at first, I was worried that the gallons per minute were exaggerated or that it was like radios where it's the perfect circumstances for to get that number. I was also worried that the pump wouldn't go as far as I needed it to go. Now let me tell you I pumped through 112 ft of hose up a straight drop and then into my 330 gallon water container and filled it in about 5 minutes, And that includes getting it primed and started. I've seen no leakages so far it is fairly heavy however I did not attach the wheels yet. It's a good size. Performance is immaculate. noise is a little louder than I expected. Now I've only had this for a couple days now so I can't speak on durability but it looks fairly well built and I'm hoping it will last a long time. ... show more

  • Great for the price includes everything needed for use
Style: 2" Semi Trash + 196cc Engine + 0.9 Gal
I bought this pump primarily to drain the water from our fire pit and low lying areas in the yard that fill up following Alaska break-up. I have used it three times in the fire pit and I have to say, at this point in time I am thoroughly impressed. The Priming can sometimes be a little difficult, but once it is primed it works GREAT!!!! The first time I used it the suction was so strong it actually sucked into the ground and I had to turn off the pump so I could break it free from the mud. The highest I have had to lift the water was about 4', but it did it with ease. I would recommend using Synthetic oil not conventional, this motor gets really hot and I am not sure hoe conventional oil will hold up. A number of other reviews mentioned it was hard to get the drain hose on and cutting the hose, I wouldn't recommend that at all. Use a little bit of cooking oil on the drain nipple and the hose slides on with ease and doesn't slip once the hose clamp is secured. The pump is loud as others have mentioned, but what do expect for a $250.00 pump and free shipping. The engine casting is rough so there are sharp edges you need to be careful of, but it runs fine at least for the time being. PROS - Comes with everything you need right out of the box - The wheel kit makes transporting easy - Great suction once it is primed CONS - The priming of the pump can be difficult sometimes - Wish the drain hose was at least 50' long, but it works - Engine casting is rough, but that is expected since its made in China Update 12 May 2016 I have used this pump 2 summers now and I am still happy with my purchase. I had previously mentioned a '50 drain hose would be nice so i bought one and it works great. Also the supply screenn is very important, I know this because I tried using it with out it attached and well I had to take the pump assembly apart and clean out the garbage, but it works great again. ... show more
