I didn't realize the garage door opener I bought was only for a 7' door until after I was almost done installing it. This extension had everything I needed to extend the opener to accommodate my 8' door. Very easy to install, just replace the front section of track and the belt. I had to move my opener back as well since I had already mounted it with the shorter track. Works just as good as the original track just gives the extra length needed for an 8' door. ... show more

After installing the first one, I changed Internet provider to T-Mobile and had connections issues. Had to add wireless extender To reconnect. It affected my bank login also so no fault of Chamberlain. Bought the second unit for son in law. After he installed the opener they love it. Super quiet operation compared to chain drive. LED lights really make a difference. Camera and battery backup just real bonus. Definitely recommend this. ... show more

I had a Chamberlain belt wear out on me, and needed to purchase a replacement. I thought I'd try a knock-off, but when I tried to install it, it ran about 5 inches short. I only needed the belt, but broke down anyway and purchased the OEM Chamberlain 8 foot extension kit, which includes a rail and a belt. It was less expensive than purchasing a belt alone (or at least I couldn't find a belt to fit being sold for less not including the kit). Belt fit perfectly. I'm now stuck with an extra rail extension. I'm sure I'll figure out something else to use it for. ... show more

    • Can finally put my truck back in the garage
Got a great deal on a new opener to replace my old broken one. Unfortunately it was a 7' opener and would not get the door high enough to fit my police truck inside due to the lightbar and antennas. Put this extension on and now the door fully opens so the truck gets to go back inside
