Instructions were clear and it was easy to install and setup. Total time for me was only 30 minutes and the only reason it took so long was bc I had to move the existing mounting box a little. We bought a new (to us) house so I’ve switched out quite a few light fixtures by myself at this point. One thing this ring floodlight has that I wish every new fixture came with was a strap you clip on the mounting plate to hang the light from while you are connecting the wires. GENIUS!! If you’ve ever switched out a light fixture by yourself you know how hard it is to hold the fixture up while also trying to wrap and secure the wires-which is definitely a two-handed job. I usually end up trying to balance it with my head or try to get my arms to bend unnaturally so I can secure the wires. The strap idea was genius and I hope whoever thought of it is making bank on a beach somewhere (after they’ve shared it with all other light fixture manufacturers). I have another Ring floodlight camera on the front that came with the house so this one paired to my account seamlessly, did a quick update and it’s working great. Instructions suggest a bead of silicone around where it sits on/in the electrical box. So make sure you have some when you go to install. Ours is under the eaves and not on a wall but I still applied some silicone. Great purchase and can’t tell it was refurbished. If I start having any problems I’ll update.

My product came in quickly but I didn’t get it put up for a couple of months due to moving/getting settled in. First of all, my husband said it was as simple to install as changing out and outdoor light fixture. The area in which you can visualize on this camera is great, and it picks up everything I need. There is a lights on/off option, a manual siren, and availability to purchase video storage through the app. Today my grandpa was looking on our camera and noticed our indoor only cat that had somehow escaped to the back deck after receiving a notification of motion. Thankfully someone was able to get him and save him from potentially being lost!! I highly recommend this camera. And you can’t tell that it’s been refurbished.

I like the camera ...it shows pretty good detail. Bad points are that I keep getting notifications that there's movement and as soon as I look at my phone, there's nothing there. Maybe its picking up a bird flying by or a bug? There are no tree branches setting it off. Wish you didn't have to pay a monthly fee to keep videos.
