I wanted UV reduction. I cannot say for sure that i got that because i don't have a way to measure UV. I was not expecting heat reduction as i chose their Clear film. It IS clear; i cannot tell the difference between the window that has it and the one that does not. However, all of the windows have lost their seal and they are cloudy in spots, so i cannot say what it would look like on a truly clean window. The backer that comes off of it is thicker than the film by 3 and seems a shame to waste but i could not think of a use for it. Make sure you toss the sticky one. This film went on fairly easy, but for our 4' x 6' windows it took two of us. Tip: make sure you clean off the top of the window frame and trim or you'll knock dust onto the film as your are putting it on. We wet all sides and put it on one window using a squeegee i bought from a car store. The squeegee was too flexible and made for difficult time as well as rainbow spider silk scratches all over the film. They are only visible from certain angles when light shows through, but we will redo that window. My buddy who washes windows for a living, then took out his professional squeegee which is rigid framed with nice, fresh rubber, on the second window and that worked great. Make sure to wet the film before squeegeeing it each time. dont do it dry ever. You can use the little one they include, it is good for the job, but on a 4x6 window, it would have taken forever. Once applied, we were trimming up the window film and i stepped out of the way, in front of an untreated window and there was a clear heat difference. I have a laser temperature meter, but can't find it. When i do, i'll post something on it. So i will order a bunch more now. The stuff that Home Depot had in stock (Gila) was either reflective or too dark, which is ok in certain circumstances, but not here. I mostly want UV reduction with lots of light. I will be requesting samples from BDF to see what other darknesses they have tho.

For the price I think a very good value, but if you need to put it on sky lights, extremely hard. But I still recommend it. As far as it working, too soon to tell.

One side of this material is extremely sticky. If the film contacts anything besides the window, it is impossible to remove without damaging the film. Many films I have installed did not have this adhesive and were easy to work with. Once the film is wet, you can position it. The film works as advertised.

The bubbles showed up the 2nd day after application. And they took ~5 days to completely disappear - the sun expedites. Be patient. I applied clear film to glass storm door that takes extreme sunlight and heat - to the degree my hardware cannot be handle. And it definitely helped cool things off so you can touch.

Probably don't expect a perfect job, but expect a perfectly reasonable one. Assuming you use plenty of soap and clean things properly it is pretty easy to apply (assuming you haven't got drafts blowing through causing the sheet to flap about). If you aren't doing this as a day job, you will probably get some small micro-bubbles. They may not entirely go away, even given time. Keep snapping off your knife blade to get fresh knife. The glass will blunt it when you are cutting the excess. It does appear to block UV. I used UV colour changing beads on my window-ledge and when put under the film they do not change colour and when the film is lifted they immediately go bright purple. Whether it blocks at the claimed rate is anybody's guess - but it does certainly provide significant blocking. Overall positive. Cheap, fairly easy and seems to work.

These window films are like the secret agents of glass protection! Scratch-resistant coating to minimize property damage – they've got my back! And let's talk about UV rejection – it's like having a sun shield for my interior furniture. The adhesives are strong as Hercules, but installation is a soap-and-water party – don't forget to soak both the film and window! But here's the kicker – these films are sensitive souls. Treat them with care, or they'll develop a permanent wrinkle! Thankfully, the free tools and easy installation guide save the day, making DIY installation a breeze. My windows have never been happier, and my furniture is safe from the evil sun's rays – it's a win-win for everyone! Be patient when installing!

This product works! I have old single pane windows. I wanted something to protect my family, furniture and flooring from harmful UV light when the curtains are open. My sunscreen containers turn pink when harmful UV light is present. I placed the bottles by the slider prior to installing the film. The containers indicated harmful UV light. BE SURE TO WATCH THE INSTRUCTIONAL VIDEO AND READ THE INSTRUCTIONS VERY CAREFULLY PRIOR TO INSTALLING THE FILM. I applied the film. It takes a bit of work, it’s recommended to use plenty of water to install. However, it takes quite a bit of effort to remove all the water and bubbles. You need to apply a good amount of pressure to the squeegee and go over the film multiple times. View the film from different angles to make sure all the bubbles and water is removed. Once the film dries you won’t be able to remove any remaining bubbles. Once I applied the film I placed the bottles by the slider once again, and they remained white. There was no indication of UV light coming through. I did this on a somewhat gloomy day, but I’ve also tested it on a very sunny day and the results have been consistent. The film is not visible, the windows remain very clear.
