Features

  • POWERFUL 12X MAGNIFICATION: Classic astronomy binoculars feature large 60mm objective lenses and powerful 12x magnification. These binoculars are ideal for long-distance viewing of land-based subjects or astronomical observing at night.
  • BRIGHT, SHARP VIEWS WITH BaK-4 PRISMS: The SkyMaster is a favorite among those who view in dim conditions near dawn and dusk or at night for astronomy. BaK-4 prisms maximize light throughput to your eye so you see brighter, more detailed images.
  • DURABLE AND WATER-RESISTANT: A rubber-armored housing protects your binoculars from damage and provides a secure gripping surface. The water-resistant exterior stands up to tough conditions and unexpected rainy weather.
  • TRIPOD ADAPTABLE: Stabilize your binocular for added comfort and shake-free views by mounting your 60mm SkyMaster on any traditional photographic tripod with a standard binocular tripod adapter.
  • UNBEATABLE WARRANTY & CUSTOMER SUPPORT: Buy with confidence from Celestron, a leading optics brand in California since 1960. Your purchase includes a Celestron Limited Lifetime US Warranty & US-based expert tech support.

Description

The Celestron SkyMaster 12x60mm binocular is the ideal choice for amateur astronomers or anyone who observes at great distances. The 60mm objective lenses have excellent light-gathering capabilities, delivering superior low-light performance, even in the dimmest conditions. Choose SkyMaster for dusk, dawn, and nighttime astronomical viewing. Moreover, the prisms inside the binocular are made of high-quality BaK-4 glass so that more light is reflected off their internal faces and passes through to the eye. The multi-coated lenses and BaK-4 prisms maximize light transmission for remarkably bright, highly detailed images. The binocular's durable exterior housing protects your SkyMaster from damage without weighing you down. Viewing through the SkyMaster binoculars is comfortable for eyeglass and non-eyeglass wearers, thanks to the foldable rubber eyecup. The SkyMaster binocular is tripod-adaptable, so you can use a binocular tripod adapter (not included) to mount it on any standard photographic tripod or monopod for extended viewing or digiscoping (photography through the eyepiece). Buy with confidence from the world’s No.1 telescope brand and a leading binocular manufacturer, based in California since 1960. You’ll also receive a Limited Lifetime warranty and unlimited access to technical support from our team of US-based experts. When it's time to gaze at the stars or take in some long-distance or low-light terrain viewing, look no further than the Celestron 71007 SkyMaster 12 x 60 binoculars. Featuring high quality BAK-4 prisms, multi- coated optics for enhanced contrast, a diopter adjustment for fine focusing, and large apertures, these binoculars offer phenomenal performance. The Celestron 71007 features a 12x magnification and an objective lens diameter of 60 millimeters, giving it a 5-millimeter exit pupil. (The exit pupil size -- the diameter of the objective lens divided by the magnification -- determines the amount of light available to your eye. The larger the exit pupil, the brighter the image obtained will be. A three-millimeter exit pupil is generally sufficient for daytime use, five-millimeters is suitable for daytime and twilight, and seven-millimeters is generally necessary for maximum nighttime or astronomy use.) The Celestron 71007 also includes a tripod adapter and Celestron's No Fault Limited Lifetime Warranty. What's in the Box Celestron 71007 Binoculars and carrying case

  • Good
Style: SkyMaster 12x60 Binocular Set: Binocular only
They're good. I'm new to binoculars so I can't really go into detail about things like chromatic aberration and whatnot but I can that they're at least good for amateurs. Focusing is easy and the detail is crisp (in the eye of a beginner). They're quite sturdy and definitely have some weight to them. I recommend a tripod or resting your elbows on a table for stability. Since these are on the lower price end, I recommend not bumping/hitting them since cheap celestron definitely isn't the sturdiest when it comes to collamination. My pair have taken 2 decent drops but it's probably just luck that they're still collaminated. Overall, they're good. If they aren't collaminated, just exchange them for another pair. ... show more

  • For the price these seem good
Style: SkyMaster 12x60 Binocular Set: Binocular only
I don't know much about these things, just what I've researched. They seem pretty good for the level of investment I wanted to make. I used them for night sky viewing as well as during the day. The only issue is that when moving my eye around to different parts of the image I would lose part of the image itself, because my eye is close to the edge of the light field, but as long as I look straight ahead it's fine. I haven't had issues with focusing at all. One thing that should be better, however, is the lens caps for the apertures are too lose and they can fall off and the cap for the eyepiece doesn't fit too snug either. ... show more

  • Good value, good quality, cheap neck strap and bag.
Style: SkyMaster 12x60 Binocular Set: Binocular only
I was impressed overall, except with the neck strap which is cheap. I will get my own neck strap. The the lens cover is a bad design and keeps falling off. The casing is also cheap.

  • They work really well
Style: SkyMaster 12x60 Binocular Set: Binocular only
In my old age with very poor eyesight the old 10 x 50 binoculars were not getting it done. These are a bit large and heavy but once adjusted they work very well for the vision impaired. Very pleased with this purchase, I own other Celestron products and they have all been a quality product.

  • Excellent purchase for the price
Style: SkyMaster 12x60 Binocular Set: Binocular only
I've never written a review for anything on Amazon before but i'm so pleased with this purchase I felt the need to write one. I just took these out, the first clear night since they arrived, and I was blown away by how good these are for a $60 binocular. I purchased the 12x60 and was totally surprised by the clarity of the image. I just took them out in my driveway for a quick test and ended up spending a few hours using them! Jupiter was large and bright, couldn't make out the bands or the red storm but I could see the Galilean moons surprisingly well. Saturn was too small to see any detail but I could just about make out the shadow of the rings across it. Finally I was pleasantly surprised to be able to spot Andromeda with them, something I hadn't expected at all. Unfortunately there was no Moon tonight but everything I did see was incredibly crisp and clear for a pair of binoculars. There was a little color aberration around bright objects but it wasn't super notable. I enjoyed using these way more than any amateur telescope i've tried, completely worth the price point! It's also worth noting that the two eye pieces give a much greater field of view than a telescope. The one negative is I don't have a tripod for them yet and it would have made more viewing much more enjoyable. These binoculars are big too so they hurt your arms to hold for long periods. I'm very happy with these, can't wait to do hours more star gazing with these! I look forward to using them to look at the Moon. ... show more

  • Great for car stargazing
Style: SkyMaster 12x60 Binocular Set: Binocular only
These binoculars were a Christmas gift for my husband last year, and we have both loved them! They're wonderful for stargazing from your car because you can rest your elbows and stabilize your view. Otherwise, if you tend to shake, consider getting a stand/tripod. If you have steady hands, you should be fine! The image is superb, you can see colors with brilliancy! ... show more
