My scaredy cat hates going in the hard plastic carrier so I was looking for a soft one, thinking she’d like that better. I bought three because I couldn’t decide which one I liked best. This one is going back. It does have some good features but the fact that it won’t stand on its own without both ends zipped almost completely closed can’t be overcome by it’s good qualities. I had thought I’d leave it on the floor with all the openings open and see if my cat would go in it on her own, but without the ends you’re left with only the top (good sized) opening and a small one on the side (the side opening is about the size of the door on a typical plastic carrier, but the other two I bought have much bigger side openings which seem so much more useful). If it would stand up with even one end unzipped it’s otherwise really nice. It’s a decent size, not the biggest, but not the smallest either, seems to be decent quality materials and construction, and the removable mat in really soft and velcros down (frankly I don’t like the Velcro because it’s unnecessary and makes it a little harder to get the mat in the right place, but some people might like it). Since I’m sending it back, I didn’t try carrying a cat in it, but the PVC inside the mat seems too flimsy to hold my fat (16lb) cat without bending despite it saying it’s good for up to 16lbs. If your cat is lighter than mine and you’re going to put him/her in through the top, this is a good carrier for the price. I just couldn’t give it more than three stars since it doesn’t work for me at all. ... show more

This carrier came faster than expected. It is a better quality than expected for the money. I am impressed with the quality of the zippers. I unzipped the end, side, and top and set it out for kitty. She played in it like a toy and when it came time to pack up, she felt safe and snug. My cat is medium size and did not fit. He is also more on the smaller and leaner side under 15 lbs and this carrier case was way to small for him. I love the size of the end doors. It made it so easy to gently persuade my cat into the carrier. I thought I was probably going to need the top door to get her in but thankfully I didn't. I am also glad the shoulder strap is long enough to use as an anchor over the head rest on my back seats so I can secure her in the storage area in my SUV. I used it to take my cat to the vet. He is a 20+lbs cat. He fit comfortably in it. The padding at the bottom of it is soft. Folds down easily for storage. Seems easy to clean.

I bought this for my 10 lb cat. He did undo the top zipper and climbed out at first! But he couldn’t claw his way out after I secured it! The most important thing was that it has a sturdy bottom and stands up on its own.
