I've just purchased again after the original one - which gave me many years of wear - I winded up breaking the case of the watch when I tried on my own to remove the original watchband that had finally broken. I NEVER took this watch off except if I was going out and changed to a much dressier watch. I never took it off while showering, bathing at the beach or pool, water theme parks, etc., and it NEVER got wet inside. I love the basic classic look, numbers are large and easy to read and has a minute hand as well which is also black therefore easy to see against the white face. My only complaint is the band becomes stiff, and then it will break eventually which is why I was trying to remove it. I wish it came with a silicone flexible band, but I still give it five stars due to what you get for the price.

This is a very simple, small, basic, practical and affordable watch that performs the most important function of watches, tell time, without any bells and whistles and distractions! It doesn't take up space and it doesn't have things that protrude too much and can get caught up in sleeves. It isn't affected by washing hands or washing dishes. It is hard to ask for more from a ten dollar watch! However, it is not perfect. I bought two of these in the Fall of 2010. Of the two that arrived, one was dead on arrival. Amazon promptly replaced it with a new one. Of the two working ones, in about 2.5 years, the wrist straps on both of them broke off. One of the two ran out of battery. The loop on the wrist strap broke on one of the two. So if you are looking for a watch that will keep ticking for many years without any maintenance, this is probably not it. The watch costs slightly more than what watch care stores charge to either replace the battery or the wrist strap. So if you really like the watch, you can instead get a brand new one (instead of changing the battery or the wrist strap). This way, you get a new watch, new battery and new strap and you can save the previous watch as spare parts if something breaks on the new one. In my case however, the wrist strap proved to be the weakest link. In one customer review here, this Voguestrap TX16G13 Allstrap 16mm Black Regular-Length Fits Casio Sport and Diver Watchband was recommended as a replacement strap. It costs about half the price of the brand new watch. So instead of getting another watch, I am giving the Voguestrap wrist-strap a try. I only used it for about two weeks, so it's too early to tell. Changing the wrist strap on this one is fairly simple. You just gently push on the bar that holds the strap inwards and down at the same time. There are plenty of tutorials online if you google them. I am rather clumsy but I was able to replace the wrist-strap using a small screwdriver and patience. I did not attempt to replace the battery on my own. I took it to one of the local watch care shops. Overall, I love the simplicity, practicality, and lightweightness of this watch. The price is hard to argue against. The only issue is that its strap and battery may need replacement every 2-3 years. If you are okay with that, all is well! But some prefer to have things that just work as they are and don't want to deal with fixes or replacements or hassles.

The watch itself is nice, especially for low price. The band is more like a semi stiff plastic. I thought it was going to be soft like silicone bands. The little strap you tuck the excess band into pinched my arm once, and to have the band tight enough to not keep shifting watch around my wrist isn't comfortable. I ordered a few elastic replacement bands. I got the wrong size because it listed the width of band as 20mm. But the size you need to make it fit is 16mm. The band pins on this casio's band connectionis kind of hard to open. I used a paper clip to push the spring pin in (hard to get it to go) , and pull the band off at same time. The pin things on this are just straight. Others I've used, including the replacement/ replacement bands I'm using have a kind of knobby thing attached that you can use to push in the spring activated pin. Much simpler. The elastic replacement band looks better than original and is way more comfortable. So, to sum up... watch itself if is great. It did come with battery already operating, so I hope battery lasts a while, but no biggie. While the actual watch is easy to read and the perfect size, the band that included is not great. A replacement elastic band (with 16mm size connection) makes the watch a 5/5. If it had been more expensive I would've been annoyed at having to get hew bands. But it's cheap and with new band it doesn't look cheap. So far its keeping time accurately. I also like that it's water resistant. The only negative I've found is the sub-par band, but new one can be gotten really cheap. Nice basic analog watch with a second hand, at a low price.
