I do like the sleek style and all the accessories that came with this. There is a bit of an issue with some of the buttons being "stuck" or just very difficult to press and get functioning. I am actually a barista at a local coffee shop so I use a professional very expensive espresso machine every day. We also use expensive coffee grounds that are weighed and dialed in daily. So I know what it takes to pull an accurate shot. The problem is that the drinks at the shop are pricey and I want to be able to make my own at home. So when I saw this one available, I jumped at the chance. If you are considering this machine, know that it is not a super high end setup. You can make a single or double espresso, an Americano, or a latte, or you can foam milk or cream. The biggest issue I had was getting the perfect shot with a layer of crema on top. I still don't have it looking the same as the professional setup but it's close. You need to grind your beans with a precise fine grind. You can't take coarse ground beans and think you can create an espresso. The water will flow too quickly through it and create a very weak tasting coffee. But then you also need to get the right volume in the portafilter (which, by the way, is plastic. It only looks like it's metal). If you put too much in the portafilter, even after tamping you won't be able to lock the filter into the machine. Use the metal tamper (not the plastic one) and compact the grounds evenly. The instructions are super clear and easy to follow. I do a double shot every time and it turns out well. And the steam wand creates a perfect foam. Just be sure to turn off the power when you're finished making your latte. ... show more

It’s perfect for a beginner who doesn’t know how to use one of these. The quality is amazing I love using this. I’ve already saved so much money making my own coffee at home. It’s easy to clean and it’s relatively quiet!

Makes great espresso and americanos. Would have been nice if they provided a porta filter with branded wooden handle like they do for their bottomless porta filter which not a fan of that causes too much mess versus the double spouted porta filter.

The media could not be loaded. Really cool machine and my family loves it. My father is the barista of the family and a stickler about his coffees/espresso. Got as a Father’s Day gift and he loves it. Says that it’s not that difficult to use and he cleans it by hand which isn’t too bad. It’s not super heavy, but for an espresso machine it’s still got some weight to it. So far as making espresso, he says the machine is easy to use and figure out with some help from the manual. Also makes great espresso at home without having to go get fancy coffee at a coffee bar or Starbucks/Dutch Bros. It’s also important by the type of grounds you get and who makes it.     • I wanted to like it.
I’m not a barista but this is my third expresso machine. I only know how to make expresso, americano, latte, and cappuccino. I make a good traditional cappuccino. Most coffee shop baristas, most Americans for that matter, don’t know the difference between a cappuccino and a latte. That’s the main reason I started making my own about ten years ago. Trust me or don’t, that’s up to you. I ordered this machine to review as part of Amazon’s Vine Program. I keep the machine but I’m expected to give an honest review, good or bad. I have nothing to gain by overrating the product. The entry level, professional quality, machines start at around $600 so keep that in mind. There are a few machines in the $100 to to $200 range that make very good expresso. I haven’t found one yet that consistently froths milk on the level of a coffee shop, $6,000 & up machine, but there’s a reason those machines cost that much. They’re better! The machine I intended to replace with this one is in the same price range as this one but the other machine pulls a better expresso. The two are pretty much on the same level of complete failure frothing milk. Opening the package everything looks good. It’s not complicated but it’s not completely intuitive either. After reading the instructions I used the setup guide and went through that process. Then I used the manual and worked all the functions using only water. Then I tried to froth some milk. I got nothing except watery hot milk. So I went over everything again, changed from milk to cold half & half to get the fat content the instructions said I needed. Followed the instructions to the letter and got the same watery, hot, milk with a tiny bit of foam. So I left that and pulled a few shots. The results were so-so. Went through the manual again, reset all the settings, and tried again. The expresso came out drinkable but not as good as my other machine. (Remember the two machines are almost identical in price) moving on to the automatic Americano. I’m skipping all the details but I gave up and made a drinkable Americano by hand. My summary of this machine is, it will not froth milk. I use and would recommend using a separate milk frother. They do a good job and they’re cheap. Once the settings are correct this machine will pull a drinkable expresso. I believe it could make a drinkable automatic Americano but I prefer to make my own. I don’t recommend this machine. This machine is a decent quality build on the outside. I can’t speak about the inside. The important stuff is inside. ... show more
