The media could not be loaded. I made the switch from keurig to nespresso about 4 years ago when I got a nespresso machine for Christmas, and I have not looked back. I started off with the little machine that I got as a gift. Then I got a Lor machine, but it's starting to slow down a little, and it's time for a new machine. So I got this Casabrews machine. I'm still using the original pods--haven't moved to the vertuo yet (and maybe never will.) On the package it says "Great tool for the HOME barista." Hey... That's ME! I unboxed this and used it for the first time today. It was boxed really well. And it came with clear instructions. And check out the little suction cups on the bottom! These machines have a little vibration to them, so I was excited to see the suction cups. That's a great feature. I also love that it has three different size options for brewing. You can set the little stand up high for a small single-shot. Or at the lower level for a regular size. Or there's even a special pad for a larger cup--if you're like me and you want a double shot poured right into your cup you'll appreciate that. You just remove the little base and install the pad and set your cup there. Another great feature. One more feature to mention. . . I get busy and forget to descale my machine. Apparently this machine has a descale warning that'll alert you when it's time to descale. That's great! It'll help me remember to do it and prolong the life of the machine. So I washed and dried the water reservoir and got ready to make some espresso. I ran a decaf pod through first, because why does nespresso include a decaf pod in their Advent calendar? Nobody wants that nespresso! But I digress. . . I turned it on and set the dial. At the risk of sounding like a child, it is fun to have a dial. I set mine at "lungo" for the test run. It went great! So I opened today's door of my Advent calendar and got Ristretto. Yay! What a great way to break in the new machine. I inserted the pod and brewed it on the Ristretto setting, and right now I am sitting here enjoying a magnificent espresso to start my day. I really like this Casabrews machine. It may be obvious that I am a very amateur home barista and don't know all of the terminology. But I do know what tastes good. And I am starting to understand a little about crema and proper espresso making. This machine made a great crema, and it made a nice hot tasty shot of espresso. So far so good. I am always skeptical of copycat devices. Almost always they are less expensive than the original but many times they are also not made as well (i.e. made with cheaper components) and thus do not work as well as the originals or fail to last. I have the Nespresso Vertuo and it has been working flawlessly for the last 4 years so let’s hope this one lasts as long. So far, this one is working as laid out in the product description and using aftermarket pods makes a great little cup of expresso. The 4 different cup settings are perfect for the location I have it placed in. It certainly makes a lot of noise when operating and vibrates the whole unit. However, the 4 suction cups at the bottom hold it securely in place on the counter. So far, I am hopeful that I will not be updating/downgrading this review in the next week, month, or year with a list of problems/issues but if I encounter any I will certainly update this review. ... show more

    • This thing is cool
We had a huge version of one of these in europe, but this one does the nespresso cups mainly. works well especially for someone who wants to keep coming back for more without having to get water everytime. For my cups, I get about 2 cups per filling, which if you got smaller ones, maybe 3, if you're actually using it for an expresso, you'll get a bit more out of each tank for sure. easy to remove the tank and clean it, pretty easy to pop in the cups as well and get them out, so it's been a great addition to the kitchen. It's slim design is also a bonus since we don't have a ton of counter space at my house, this fits in well and doesn't hog the counter. So far, so good. ... show more

I am no coffee connoisseur. I drink espresso whenever I can. I am also not technologically savvy. My husband got me the Sur la Table espresso machine thinking it would be easy for me to operate. Well, it is somewhat easy to operate but it is not user friendly at all. So when this Casabrews espresso machine came out, I didn’t hesitate to try it. And I am glad I did. It is way better than my Sur la Table espresso machine. It is very easy to operate and the coffee came out great. It is also slightly smaller than the Sur la Table one. Additionally, I read that the higher the Bar, the better the coffee is and this Casabrews machine claims to have 20 Bars. ... show more

We are a coffee household,, but my daughter and I occasionally like an espresso. This makes delicious Americano (and others) with the original Nespresso-style pods. I got a multi-pack of flavored espresso, and so far, we love it! Easy to use and holds enough water for several cups in a row.
