  • Using Tips: Too coarse a grind, insufficient ground coffee, and weak tamping pressure on the ground coffee before brewing can all result in inadequate pressure, leading to a poor brew. Its also crucial to use fresh coffee beans for the best flavor and pressure. Leaving beans in the container exposed to air for extended periods can cause the oils to evaporate, resulting in low pressure and a less flavorful espresso. • Love it!
Had this for over a year now and it has been the best purchase of the year! Makes perfect delicious coffee, it looks beautiful and is a workhorse. My partner and I have together about 4-6 lattes a day. It’s easy to fill and easy to clean. Different beans need different grinds which will need to be adjusted each time you open a new bag, but often it’s the same grind size for multiple bags. Most of the time if the pressure is a little low I just add a little more grind next time and it fixes the issues. Easy peasy. Always run an empty double shot first thing in the morning, use wet cloth to wipe steamer and wipe down after use. Stays clean with little effort. I highly recommend this if you’re feeling adventurous and looking for an excellent espresso at home. The video directions have always been helpful if I had questions on how to handle something like grinder cleaning(which it only has needed once). Haha now we dread getting espresso anywhere but at home because no one makes as good of a cup as we do! Saves us $$$$! ... show more

  • Cautiously Very Optimistic...
I bought my first espresso machine at a Starbucks in 1995 and have been making mostly cappuccino forever. I was a little reluctant to buy a machine I had never heard of, had only a few reviews from beginners and enthusiasts, and, going forward...who knows? But. Three cappuccinos in, I have just made the best one in 27 years! First impression of this machine - very impressed. I may or may not write more going forward, but I'll say a couple more things in Casabrews favor. My first day I received an email from them checking in and asking how it was going...and they sent several pdf's to help. They provide a complete second grinder mechanism in case you need to fix, adjust, clean or otherwise need a clean start. And, as of the writing of this, I got an instant $150 coupon taking the price of the machine to $500. So. Initially. Recommended! Good luck, happy brewing. Enjoy... Update: I had reason to email Casabrews with a question as I am trying to figure out the grind and pressure. The next day my phone rings and it's a call from mainland China. And "Martin" (I'm sure actual Chinese name was different), introduces himself with his chief engineer. He is "the boss." And when they explain they are not sure about my problem, they offer to send me a back up grinder, (the unit already comes with one), and to pay for me to send mine to an address in California, (at their expense), so they can research the issue. Amazing! Who does this in this day and age? Let alone across the world, caring to understand about a customer problem. And we all think China, and companies there are other-worldly. How fantastic for them to care and make the effort across the language barrier and pay the freight. Bravo, Casabrews! Still learning the machine, but even a bigger fan now! Update 2: One year on. Still love its performance. Fairly flawless. Really impressed with my first several hundred coffees… ... show more

  • Great product, great customer support and the best looking coffee machine in this range.
Had my Machine for a long time now, making 4-8 cups of coffee a day. It is still perfect and I get the same excitement out of it still. I have gone onto the second grinder now as the previous one did start to need a very fine setting to get the right grind. This is normal wear though. It did work hard. It is easy and very affordable to order another grinder (from Casa Brews) even after the 2nd one has worn out. It would be great to be able to get more clarity on expresso descaling product. The descaling bottles are tiny. Manual says to fill it to the top with descaling product. That's a lot of small bottles and expensive. I just use the espresso descaling tablets rather (if that helps anyone). I have also used white vinegar.. no problem at all, cleaned it beautifully. The information on the product is superior to other brands in my opinion.. well done Casa Brews and thanks for the wonderful and rapid support always! :) ... show more

  • Great Cup, Give it 5 Minutes Or So
The media could not be loaded. Caveat to my tangent you’re about to read, this is my first espresso machine. I’m not totally oblivious as I did work as a barista in college for 3 years. Looking at my coffee reloads on my statements with my big kid money, I was sure I can make something just as good at home. When 5700 Gense was delivered, I immediately put it together and read the manual. It recommends water be changed out daily… wow. It also recommended tap water… double wow for this nasty calcified water. After filling it with filtered water, I made my self a nice cup of wake-me-up at 8 o’clock at night. And MAN did it taste like freedom from overpriced franchises. Few things I noticed: 1) The grind bracket that holds the handle while the grinds drop was a pain to put on. Be patient with it and it’ll eventually slip in and you won’t have to deal with it anymore unless you change the grinder. Yeah, mine came with an extra grinder head. (Niiiice) 2) You cannot pull shots and froth milk at the same time. Each must pre-heat separately. Preheating the milk wand immediately makes the shot pours unready. 3) Initial warm up is 2 minutes. Switching between the milk wand and the espresso shots after the initial warmup is about 30 seconds. 4) Placing the handle in the brew head is TIGHT. Careful to do this as gently as possible. 5) I tried grinding on 7, 8, and 9. Using 7 was way too fine for an adequate brew and was more water than coffee. Also this pull took forever. Using 8 it just wasn’t right. The color was off. Using 9 had the perfect color and creamy consistency I was looking for. Reading the manual, many of these grinds will depend on your beans. So you’ll need to play with it a little. 6) Last, but not least, give yourself 5-7 minutes when making a cup in the morning. I’m a last minute person so plan for this as it also includes clean up. After cleaning your milk pitcher, place it under the wand as it leaks just a little. Wipe the bottom of the brew head as it also seems to leak a bit as well. Though both of these minor drips maybe residual. ... show more
